Where do I start from...

I started the exciting process of looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend, and I finally got some clues on what she might like. I believe a Princess with Trillion Side Stones. I would also like to see any pictures or get any ideas on how to even get started with this exciting process. Below is a link to an example of what she might like.

What is your budget? Any preferences on size, color, and clarity?

I would say my budget is a max of about $12,000. I just started my search, and really just getting educated on clarity, color etc. I would like the main diamond to be at least 1 ct.

Based on your budget, you have a lot of options.

I couldn't find any trillion settings after a rudimentary search of common PS-vendors' websites except for James Allen, and those had either pave or engraving (you could probably request a plain shank). I do think that anyone can make it in platinum for $2k - $3k (e.g. Brian Gavin, Whiteflash, Good Old Gold).

I also tried searching for princesses and most were either around 1 ct. or 1.6+ ct. Your budget will get you something very nice in between, but there wasn't much of a selection. In your position, I would call the aforementioned vendors and see what they can offer you, and then come back and post the options here.

I'm not a huge princess cut fan, but I think this is a beautiful ring! gorgeous! Good luck finding the perfect diamond, it looks like you're in good hands!

It's a beautiful style. Watch out for darkness in the center of princess stones while you're searching! Best of luck.

It's a very classic style. Keep in mind that you get a very different sparkle from trillions then round or princess cut diamonds.

I think it is a beautiful ring as well. She is not very open about telling me what she wants/likes, but a classic ring like this is more of her style, and personality.
