I love the antique style rings by Tacori. Unfortunately they are out of budget.

Maybe someone can help me find a nice ring, here is basically what I am looking for:

White gold or platinum setting

Small diamonds or engraving on shank or both

Center diamond - approx 1.25 ct or up in weight
F-G in color, no lower than SI2 in clarity
Good depth, table etc.
(would prefer a radiant / princess / round)

2 side diamonds (or no side diamonds) - these should be approx .50 - .75 ct weight total (would prefer round or trapezoid)

Anyone know where I can find one for a good price?

Thanks!

You can try fay cullen. I'm not sure if they have exactly what you're looking for, but they usually have some affordable antique rings.

Good luck!

You can start to get ideas of the setting you like by looking on one of these antique setting sites posted here:

Check out the individual settings available at Fay Cullen. They have some things that you might like, and then you can get a stone separately. Their already set rings seemed to be mostly J color and lower.

Setting 2

Good Old Gold has a H&A 1.31 F SI2 with an AGS cert for $6493. You'll have to search here to find it since it's not one of their stones showcased on the site.

Other ideas for stones:
1.27 G SI2 radiant for $5200

1.51 G VS2 princess for $9k

1.23 G VS2 princess for $6750 (Ask about their discount for PriceScope members)

1.38 F VS2 princess for $8k

1.50 G VS2 round for $7780 (price already includes discount) Non-ideal stone but good idealscope image

1.53 G SI2 H&A for $10k

Thanks for all the posts!

Thanks to your help I have found this ring, which I love:

Do you guys think it is safe to buy from this place, it has the EGL certificate etc. (Is EGL legitimate)

Please let me know!

Thanks again

The ring is beautiful~!
The ring on the website said it was sold.

I am in the market for an antique setting and have just bought my diamond separately (overnightdiamonds.com). I love Forever Jewelers (they send extra photos on request and have offered me a good deal). Foreverjewelers.com

The settings can be bought on their own or with a stone- they also sell loose diamonds that are certified or others (wouldn''t dare since I am so particualr about cut).

This one, Ann Harrington, has lots of settings with great prices, but photos aren''t that great and I emailed for more, but none available. http://www.annharringtonjewelry.com/antiquering.html

I love antiqueengamentrings.com for the platinum settings at great prices, but they have a limited selection when factoring in each settting is only for a certain size stone. http://antiqueengagementrings.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=22

Antique jewelry Mall has settings and rings with diamonds:
http://www.antiquejewelrymall.com/weddingjewelry.html which seem pretty good value.

Marlene Harris.com has settings and rings w/ diamonds: http://www.marleneharriscol.com/categories/Engagement_Ring_Mountings.html the settings seem good value.

Jansjewels has some interesting and very affordable settings, none with side stones, but all the best prices, and another more lavish and expensive line you can ask for quotes on (Gordon Clark collection) : http://www.jansjewells.com/reproduction.htm

Does anyone know of any other sites with antique style settings that are good value (I want to spend less than $700). Thanks, Kate

Kate,
You should start your own thread instead. You''ll get more help that way.

I think EGL is fine. A lot of people don''t. But GIA, at least currently, does not give very much info on cut, like the crown height, pavilion height, angles, etc., and EGL does on some of its reports. Just know that they reputedly grade more leniently on color, so be okay with a slightly lower color than what is on the report. I would rather have an EGL cert than none to compare with what the diamond seems visiually to me.
