ONline or in a regular store? If online, what site did you buy from? And why did you decide to buy online vs in a regular store? AND if you bought online would you buy from that vendor again?

My original stone came from a local store where we were living a the time. NOT a mall store. Even pre PS in 1994 we knew that was a bad idea!

Original diamond was before the internet and was bought at a small jewelry store, not in a mall. However in retrospect, they had a poor selection and I am sure we paid full retail price even though the owner was a cousin of my father, and we thought we''d get a good deal.

For the new anniversary diamond, I am buying form Good Old Gold online, and the experience was so great that I''d never buy a diamond any other way. There is no jeweler who can give me the information on a stone that I am getting from GOG, and the service has been excellent, too. And I feel that I am getting a better cut diamond for the price than I would locally. I did comparison shop and the prices of premium cut diamonds were as much or more than the ideal cut ones I found online.

we bought from jamesallen.com and we would definitely go back again! Jim Schultz and his associates were friendly and honest, the prices were awesome, and he had a great selection of well-cut diamonds.

I got my stone through a family friend that is a diamond wholesaler. I plan on making all of my future diamond purchases from him. However, I have to say, that based on what I''ve seen on here...if I didn''t have that connection, I would definitely buy from one of the on-line vendors here...WF, GOG, James Allen...

But that''s just my opinion.

We bought our orig. rings at Mayors Jewelers at Dadeland Mall in Miami, Fla. in 1980. They were very modest, contemporary YG settings. My upgrade (WG 1.15 carat Emerald Cut) came from Shane Co. in Atlanta. I''ve compared similar stones at Blue Nile and there wasn''t much of a price difference. My husband buys all of my jewelry at Shane because of the convenience, customer service, and trade-in policies. They recently modified a necklace that I bought there several yrs. ago, for free when I wanted a different clasp on it.......

My husband knew that I was looking online to upgrade my ring and mentioned to our local jeweler that I was searching on the internet for ideal cut diamonds. Well our jeweler fixed him right up with a Hearts on Fire ring! It is just beautiful and we do receive excellent service from this jeweler, but the cost was much more than if we had purchased from one of the pricescope vendors. Since then I bought a diamond bracelet from Whiteflash and even my husband was very impressed with the quality, value, and service that I received.

Bought from Good Old Gold. Decided to do so because I believe in Internet Commerce! The pricescope family helped me get knowledgable and helped me see that there are vendors that are extremely trustworthy!

I don''t ever question the decision on the diamond I bought my wife. You don''t see stuff like that at the mall...

We bought from Tiff''s pre PS. Now I will only buy from a PS vendor, and have been very happy with WF, GOG and SP.

we bought my first ring at a local estate jeweler. We purchased my upgrade through Pearlmans..

We made this mistake of buying an engagement ring from Jareds. The Leo diamond! And while pretty, we started researching the next day about diamonds and found that not only did DH over pay but it was an IGI which wasn''t the greatest. So a week later DH returned it and we bought my e-ring online (same ring style too- princess cut in a platinum cathedral setting) from Blue Nile. We paid much less than Jareds and it was appraised much higher through Martin Fuller. BN was awesome and we would buy from them (and have!) again!

My firsts stone, a 1.53 carat rb, came from a family friend. Her father was a diamond dealer from Florida and we lived in California at the time. My hubby did some research but did not know much about diamonds. The stone was fair, not great, which I found out later. I also hated the setting, yellow gold and really funky modern, not my taste at all. My first upgrade and second upgrade, emerald cut stones in platinum, came from the Tiffany''s near our new home in the east. I LOVE my ring, and loved the first upgrade too, though I wanted bigger. My round stone is currently in a pendant.

Bought my ering, w-band, and diamond halo pendant from Whiteflash. I went to numerous local jewelers, became educated on pricescope and purchased online with no regrets!! I would definitely tell all my friends and family about WF and hope to shop there in the future!

My original diamond came from a small local jeweler. I think it was a nicer diamond than what we would''ve gotten form a mall store.

My upgraded diamond came from Whiteflash. I decided to buy the diamond after buying a tennis bracelet from them and being really happy with it. I figured that the chances were good that no B & M would have all the info. that I got with my diamond, nor could they compete with online prices. And yes, I would buy from Whiteflash again.

I got my stone at Good Old Gold. I bought from an online vendor mainly because my dad got his stone online and told me how much cheaper it was than going to a JB Robinson''s type B&M store. It was! I would, and am going to upgrade with Jon at GOG when the time comes. As for now, my Fiancee still gets compliments on the brilliance and shine of her 3/4 ct. ring--thanks again Jon for helping me out!

Jan and Brad of Diamond Brokers of Florida (DBOF). they''re online and b/m.....why''d i by from them? the customer service they provided me was top notch! shop there again? yep...did so...for my wedding ring...and, whatever jewelry i may need in the future, i''ll fo'' sho'' go to jan and brad again...why? ....top notch customer service....

''online'' versus a ''regular'' store? there''s much more to chose from ''online'' and probably much less overhead, etc...

All of mine came from big-name houses.

Both. I went to Good Old Gold''s store to look at the stones in person and then I reserved and "Bought" the diamond online on their site. I''m one of the lucky ones I think.

We bought our stone at Single Stone here in Los Angeles, since we wanted an authentic antique. However, I wouldn''t hesitate to buy a stone from a Pscope vendor in the future!

Lucky indeed.

Good Old Gold!

My fiancee actually did not buy the ring online. He and a friend trekked all the way out to Long Island from Central Jersey. And let me tell you it is a long trek. I think the two of them went out there because they had more options than anywhere else and the recommendations were good. I wanted a Lucere and that was the only place to get it (I wasn''t expecting the Lucere but I''m glad he made the trip!!!!!) And my friend also wanted a unique diamond cut.

ps.I just took my ring back to GOG for a slight alteration and they just called and said it is done! I''ll be posting with the new pics soon!!!!!!!

pps. My fiance and his friend proposed on (almost) the same day!!! It was so cute! My friend and I always said we''d be jealous of each other if we didn''t get asked on the same day!
