How "short" is short? You''ll be able to get a ring with diamonds in the band but it''s the head/prongs that will be the problem. Have you talked to Mark Morrell? What is his time frame to make ths ring for you--is it too long?

Jiltedgen, please don't take this the wrong way, but, for most gals an engagement ring is something most gals will keep and wear forever. it seems like you are in such a rush to get this done and just sort of trying to throw it together. Why not just get your stone set in a temp setting so you can propose when you want to and then you and she can decide on the permanant setting together when it's not such a hurry and you can be sure she gets exactly what she wants...

To answer your questions, you won't be able to get anything as nice as the Mark Morrell is such a short time. A stock piece already in her size is about your only chance.

Jiltedgen - I understand and appreciate what you attempting to accomplish, however, I must wholeheartedly agree with decodelighted & Mrs. Salvo on this one ...

This is a process that just cannot be rushed. I am almost positive that your girlfriend would prefer to that you slow down the process and get her something that you love and painstakingly selected as opposed to something that was just able to be finished in time.

All of these designer rings have to be customed and, especially since it is around Christmas time, this takes a little longer. My setting was quoted as taking 4 - 6 weeks and that was in November. I can''t imagine that the turnaround will get any quicker as we come closer to holiday season.

Good luck ... If you don''t manage to get something worked out within your timeframe, please don''t be disappointed. Everything happens for a reason and with all the effort you have put in you should certainly find something to delight your girlfriend in the New Year.
