Hi everyone,
I purchased a loupe off the internet a 10x and 30x but when I received them
they were not that good and I couldn''t tell the difference between the two
powers. I want to be able to see my flaw in my vvs2 diamond. Does anyone
know where I can get a good loupe that I see my flaw.
Thanx sooo much

Hi Veronica ,

I am assuming that the diamond is in a ring, in which case it may or may not possible to find the inclusions, for sure , you will need to have the diamond surgically clean, with very good lighting and with a quality loupe.

I would recommend bringing your ring and documents to a jeweler and let them help you find the inclusion(s)

Once you know exactly where the inclusions are, it is easier to find them.

Hi Veronica,

Have you checked out Kassoy? They have a plethora of jewelers' tools and are well regarded within the industry.

Hope this helps.

Kindest regards always,

For a VVS2 a loupe may not be the best instrument to see the inclusion, which is going to be very small.

You may need the darkfield lighting of a gem microscope...and even with this you may have trouble with dust particles.

I would agree with Gary on this one. It's going to be hard to find something on a VVS2 diamond with a loupe.

I ended up getting a Baush & Lomb loupe model "Hastings Triplet 10x" loupe. A lot of people recommend it.

If you still want to get a loupe, you can get this one from a jewelry supply place. I got mine at a mining-type place, as people use this loupe to look at minerals and stuff. Generally I find jewelry stuff more expensive than mining stuff. I paid CAN$65 + tax for mine.

Thank you everyone. A jewler has shown me the flaw it is a "feather" in
the center of the stone. He said it would not have any effect on how it
"preforms" or hurt the integrity of the stone. I hope he was right.
Thank you for the website and thoughts.
