I have both the $7 ebay version and the free version from Jim at DCD (freebie for buying diamonds) Both are adequate, but not great. It depends on what you want to use it for. Fot the occasional checking of prongs and such, a cheap or free one is OK. I would probably buy one from Dave Atlas for $30 or so if I were to buy another one.
OttoFrei sells several loupes by different manufacturers. They sell tools and findings to the trade
and can be found here. The Bausch & Lomb 10x Hastings Triplet loupe is the one I used when I took the GIA
Diamond Grading Class. Now I use it more to take out splinters from my hand ... LOL
The $15 one I sell is totally adequate for most use. I use similar when I travel. The $35 one is truly a professional model, suitable for all day long use. Although not expensive, it is as good optically as the most costly ones which reach the $300 level.
