I'm at a solid 8. I go out only when needed and always masked (and only to places where everyone else is as well). I'll see my Mother and Brothers but only because they are also following the same precautions. My Son is staying home from school even though they've reopened. We do get curbside pick up for food occasionally. My main reason for caution is that I'm pregnant. There's no way to know what this virus is doing to fetuses yet. It's too early to know.

Lmao! The last time I went out before the shut down, I totally drank alcohol and told hubby it was just in case! He doesn’t drink alcohol and luckily, neither of us got Covid bc we were at the casino and ate at the buffet!

No fear because I stay in. I’m a 10 on the risk scale. I go grocery shopping every two weeks at off time to a small grocery that’s never busy. I won’t eat at a restaurant until there is a vaccine. I visit my kids as long as they have not been out , if they are I wait two weeks. I won’t go back to work until there is a vaccine. If I ever go back at all.

Revising tax law so that corporations like Amazon actually pay taxes. Adding higher tax brackets, and increasing capital gains and estate taxes.

Focus on offering interest free loans than stimulus checks or bail outs, so it has to be repaid. I think that the $1.5 Trillion injection in the stock market should have been used instead for purposes like these.

@dizzyakira, I'm so, so sorry for the loss of your father.

I range from an 8 to a 10, depending on the day. DH and I are both at high risk of severe illness, long-lasting damage, and death. We get everything delivered that we can, and other than going for a run or walking our dog away from other people, we are going nowhere that isn't absolutely, totally essential, and those excursions are masked and planned carefully to minimize risk as much as possible. This will continue until there is a vaccine or an effective, widely available treatment.

I think we thought it was way worse than it ended up being although I'm glad we had that reaction as it could have gone differently.
The elderly/immunosupressed can help to protect themselves by staying home.
& I will continue to wear a mask when I go to places that are densely populated for others sake.

I shan't go to crowed places or use public transport where social distancing is not practical or possible.

Pubs, restaurants, theatres, cinemas are out until further notice as far as I am concerned.

Not sure if I want to participate in any social bubbles at this moment in time.

I am mindful of others getting too close to me when I am out and about.

I shan't travel by air until 2021, February 2021 that I have planned at the moment may be too soon.

As soon as a vaccine is available, I shall queue up to have it, and be prepared to stay at home and self-isolate for any stated period if required.

I have an underlining health condition, although not serious, I need to be mindful of getting Covid-19, and do not wish to be an additional burden to our free healthcare services.

IDK. I vacillate between a 1 and an 8. We are dealing with something else right now that is taking all our energy so while we are in the middle of that my fear re Covid 19 is a one. But when I start thinking about the possible consequences if we or our loved ones come down with Covid 19 my concern is great. Everyone I love has preexisting conditions and some of them numerous health issues and advanced age that make them vulnerable to having severe consequences should they get Covid 19.

But for the majority of the time my fear is a one and only when I take a breath and come up for air (over what else we are dealing with) and start thinking about Covid 19 does my concern start escalating again. My worry is based on what we don't know about who can experience severe side effects and possible death. That is, for me, the biggest concern about this virus.

However, to keep sane right now (over the other issue we are dealing with) we get out every day to cycle or hike. We keep our distance from others and do the best we can but we are living our lives since we do not know how long this will be continuing and cannot put everything on hold. My DH has a procedure scheduled for mid June (kidney stone removal) and he has to have that done so really hoping the hospitals remain open for elective surgeries.

Besides cycling, hiking and shopping for food we stay inside for the most part. Yesterday was our first outing to a non essential shoppe and that was unintended. And if the owner hadn't seen us and run out to stop us we probably would not have stopped there yet.

Unfortunately @OoohShiny, testing positive for antibodies doesn’t mean you’re immune. They still don’t know IF a positive tests proves you’re immune, or for how long the ‘immunity’ lasts.

We’ve both had some symptoms, persistent new cough, shortness of breath and fever, DH was actually ill, I didn’t feel too bad, so I’ve done an antibody test, and it came back negative. DH just sent his off, but we’re not expecting that to be anything other than negative too.

We haven’t been out to any shops since 18th March, I was sourcing food from all over the country, basically anywhere I could get it from because our local supermarkets didn’t even have any click and collect slots within 10 stores and 20 mile radius of our home. Last time I looked, they still didn’t.

We’re going to carry on getting deliveries, but will probably start going to some shops, masked up and social distancing in a few more weeks.

I’d say at the moment, with the death rates seemingly reducing quite dramatically here, I’m probably a 4-5.

This is true but it seems unlikely that there won't be at least some level of immunity, as it would seem very unusual if the body didn't respond in the way it usually does!

Even if there is not immunity, for many (most) people it wouldn't really matter - the illness is minor or even asymptomatic for a large number of people, and most individuals have nothing to worry about even if they have slightly more severe symptoms.

Some do, of course, and I feel bad for those that are immunosuppressed and fearful of what might happen if they do catch it Many things are a risk for those people, though, so in a way it is just one more thing for the list of things they don't want to catch!

It seems harsh to say it, but humankind is still subject to the rules of 'survival of the fittest' - it is only in the last 100 or so years that we've stopped dying from tetanus caught off a scratch from a rusty nail, for example, so we have become used to shrugging off what used to be potentially fatal illnesses! When something new comes along that we can't deal with immediately, it reminds us that we are pretty small and powerless against nature if/when it does it's thing.

It depends on where one is located.
I don't know a single health care worker who is taking this lightly, especially with the recent better understanding of long term damages.
Just got off the phone with my very good GP friend . In spite of being in a place that currently doesn't have any confirmed cases, she and her DH (an anesthesiologist) are concerned and advise to be cautious... They are getting ready for the second wave (she thinks in autumn, but insist she has no conclusive data).

That's in Germany, mind you, where this whole thing has been handled about a million times better than in the US...
