Sounds like a silly question, I know! My wedding band is smaller than my e-ring. The jeweler had said my e-ring was a bit big and that the ring should be snug. I went a bit against my instinct and agreed with him. He had also assured me the ring could be shaved a size up, whereas there is nothing they can do when a ring is too big.

Well now it''s been 7mo''s, and I notice that my ring is hard to get off at times (a little snug around the knuckle). That seems ok, but then there is this deep imprint on my finger? It doesn''t feel tight on, but do any of you have that imprint? I know fingers swell in the summer so maybe that''s part of it...

If you''re uncomfortable, then the rings are too tight!

My college ring always leaves an imprint, but I don''t even notice it''s on most of the time because it''s very comfortable. I''ve never worried about it, and I think that as long as your ring is comfortable, it''s probably fine. Just make sure to dry your finger well underneath when you wash your hands!

Janine, given your present ''condition'', that might be contributing to the ring being tight.

I''d wait to make any decisions on altering it because some women don''t experience any ring size change with pregnancy, but others do. A friend of mine had to have her ring resized after delivering her daughter. She waited about 4 months to see if it would fit, but found that it''s still tight.

I''d wait a bit before making decisions.

I was going to say the same thing as Allison, I wouldn''t size anything right now, wait until after the delivery to see how your body responds.

If you feel they are still to tight after, I''d only size the wedding band to your e-ring size. Obviously wearing two rings is going to be a bit snugger than just one, so if your e-ring is a tad bit loose on its own, it is probably perfect with the wedding band. I recently resized my rings--I sometimes had trouble getting them off if I''d slept in them (and I had the ring indentations in my skin), though they felt fine the rest of the day. When I got a second wedding band to wear with the set, I had my e-ring and original wedding band sized up a half size and now they are a bit too loose. It''s tough to get the perfect size!

I agree with Allison. I had to stop wearing my rings around 30 weeks. You are probably just retaining water.
