When is the best time to diamond-shop?

At what point do retailers have the most selection? Is it right before the Christmas/Valentine''s day rush? Or does it depend on other external factors that cannot be pinned to a particular time (like supply, brokers, political influences, etc.)? Basically, when should a person shop for a stone to be able to see the best variety in terms of cuts, colours, clarity, and sizes? Thanks!

I would say that the busiest time of year is right before and during the Christmas rush. So if there would be a bad time to start shopping it would most likely fall directly after the Christmas rush. The only reason that I say this is because most suppliers of retail stores and internet brokers out there have sold most of their quality goods during that seasonal period of time. So the best time to shop would probably fall between the months of February to January. January typically being a time of restocking and getting new inventory in from all that was sold. It's hard to find a bad time of the year through internet companies just because of the mass selection that we all offer. So this probably applies to the retail stores more than it applies to internet vendors. Simply because of the amount of selection. Just a thought and an opinion. Hopefully this helped.

Shop right now! The diamond supply is built up and in a few weeks they will be flowing to jewelry stores. Get it now before the stores start calling for them. During Christmas most of the diamonds are in the stores. After Christmas the diamonds flow back to the diamond houses and that is also a good time to buy but the supply is down and they have been picked over.
