When do you mail cards out so they get there on time?

I know this is probably a dumb question but I always send cards too soon or too late. I want our cards to our moms to get there the Saturday before mother''s day coming up this week and am confused which day I should send them out on. Does anyone have any advice?

My usual method is to put off doing it until the morning before, then priority overnight everything... very effective but not exactly cost efficient

I would think five business days would be plenty of time for snail mail though?

Do your mother's live in the same state as you?

The postal system isn't a very exact system, so it would be hard to say .. would you rather they get there early, or late?

ETA: Unless you purchase an upgraded shipping standard, which would guarantee delivery on a certain date.

It depends on where you're sending it to, but I always try to send it 4 or 5 business days before the day I'd like it to arrive. I'd rather it arrive early than late.

They get there on time when I remember to send them 2-3 days in advance. My family is all within 1-2 small states from us so it only takes 2 days on average for them to get any mail from us.

Sometimes when I mail things, they get to the recipient the next day! (Within my state), otherwise, 2-3 days. I don''t think the USPS is very predictable.

Agree with 2-3 days, but my family is mostly local, so sometimes they'll even get it in one day!

I can never really tell. Sometimes it''s 2-3 days, but it has taken 7 before! So I try to mail it 5-6 days ahead of time and write ''DO NOT OPEN UNTIL (insert day here)!'' on the envelope. My family usually abides by that.

That way I know they will get it in time and they get to open it on the special day.

Well I live in colorado and she lives in north dakota, so I will probably mail it out tomorrow morning
