Hello,

I''m in the process of purchasing this stone and would like peoples'' opinions.

The specs are;

Carat - 0.44
Color - E
Clarity - VS1
GIA Report
Sym - Excellent
Polish - Excellent
HCA Score 1.1

Thank you !

looks like it is probably a nice stone! have you been able to see it yet?

also, if you are interested in buying a larger stone, you could think about going down in claritiy and/or color. for example, to an eye clean SI1/G color.

Oops! Too big, have to try again.

Hello Icekid,

Thanks for the reply, but no I don''t want to go any bigger as it is to fit into an old setting, so I''ve decided if I can''t have a large one I might as well go to as high a quality as I can !

Rainbow,

It sounds like it could be nice. How did you arrive at the HCA prediction? Do you have percentages and angles?

Edited: I see the ideal-scope image now. Good image, and typically more telling than proportions. Of course, I still to see numbers

Combined with the information from the IS image it should be one hot diamond :}

yeah, just give me the diamond rainbow!

Just curious.
With perfect numbers, IS image, and HCA score, why wasn't this stone sent to AGS?

Wouldn't an AGS 0 report result in a higher price?

I thought the lesser stones went to EGL or other labs, the bulk of the respectable ones to GIA, and the best to AGS, all three being destine for different niches of the market.
No?

There are no hard, fast rules. It depends on who is sending the diamonds to the lab and the target market. It can also have to do with turnaround time. Some labs are much faster than others.

For instance, we send many of our diamonds to AGS because we like amount of information they provide on the report. They were the first ones bold enough to grade cut. Our market is the internet, where such information is a value-add.

We still send many Expert Selection diamonds to GIA. There are people who call in specifically for a GIA report sometimes. 'On the street,' a GIA report carries a lot of weight due to their age and reputation. GIA paper coupled with a Sarin can indicate traditional ideal proportions. The only unknown is whether polish/sym would receive ideal or ex in the AGS metric.

Hello Belle

The measurements are 4.92 x 4.94 x 3.01.

And thanks everybody for your opinions. It makes me feel better as I am having t buy the stone without seeing it as I''m downunder in Australia.

thank you rainbow.
