Thanks GG,

Caeruleaum 18-22'? I don't think so! Not in my garden anyhow. When yours are up, can you take a photo of them and report back?

I like to plant alliums under Daylillies, that way, when the foliage of the alliums dies back (right before they flower) the dying leaves are hidden amongst the daylilies.

Where's Mochi, our Daylily queen?

I love daylilies but every bunny and deer would take them down before they ever came up, I tried them along with liatris which looks awesome with the lillies but the bunnies go for these guys- big time, first dibs before the big boy deer come to town.

Lilacs-both lavender and white.

My by far favorite flowers are the cherry blossom and hyacinths. I love cherry blossoms so much, I had to get a tattoo of them as sleeves. Yes, I''m quwayyyzee!

Awesome!! Can we see your sleeve?

Lilacs! Growing up we had 2 gorgeous purple bushes in the backyard and the smell was so divine. I could just stand in the middle of them and breath it in all afternoon. I always wished I could find a perfume to replicate it.
When I moved to FL from WI is was so disappointed to find out that they don't live in this climate

Wow! those are some critters you have. Neither the rabbits nor the deer touch any of my day lilies in any of my gardens.

Jazmine, it might just be your lucky day!

Select Plus Lilacs out of Quebec (who ship into the US), have a range of lilacs that will grow and flower in zones as high as a 9. I would contact them and see if there is one that they would recommend.

No girl should be without a lilac. My favourite is "Beauty of Moscow". White tinged with mauve and scent to die for.

Glad you found this for Jazmine. I always thought lilacs could stand the cold. For the short time they are up, they are heaven. My grandma had them too, along with gigantic blue hygrangeas. They are just so wonderful. I hope a lilac soon grows in WI.

I have learned to love and plant lavender, russian sage, the alliums, foxgloves, cana ... the deer don''t touch these. I tried to plant hollyhocks last year, but something nips them off at the buds.. its hopeless, but there are plants they won''t go near. they even ate a morning glory vine I trained up a tree.- this year I am planting lots of box wood, with bulbs the critters don''t like.

And look at that gorgeous Acer japonica in the background! I had a large specimens in pots in the UK, which my sister has and I visit occasionally.

Nearest I can get to growing one here is a Korean Acer. Not bad, but not the same!

she''s an Acer indeed. Inabe Shindara - slow grower, but hanging tough..

I LOVE lilies. I don''t care what type it is personally. (you should see my yard..my husband wanted to kill me a few years ago)

Casablanca lilies have a divine scent, as do stargazers (can be too strong for some). Some trumpets are scented as are some of the Orienpets (hybrids)

1/3 of the yard is Orientals Orienpets, Asiatic, and Trumpets. I do have 2 lilac bushes and some peony''s as well. (I''ve got a big yard, whats a girl to do right?)

Colorwise my favorites are the Monte Negro because of their very deep red coloration.

add me to the fan lists for Stargazer lilies, orchids and Sunflowers!

FI got me a bouquet of Sunflowers for our 5th anni, and I swear they are just the happiest looking oafy flowers! Maybe it's the Kansas girl in me, but I love a sunflower! Hearty and headstrong!

Someone posted a white orchid bouquet on here that was the most elegant bouquet I had ever seen... it had orchids cascading down and was immaculate!

I also get a kick out of bird of paradise flowers! Once I learned the name, I thought it was so fitting!

here''s a photo of the bird of paradise plant...
