Looking at diamonds on line, I came across this one at a very reputable on line site, and the price was so low compared to others at the same site and other reputable sites, it made me say, “Whoa! What’s wrong with it?” The price is $5,500. Comparable diamonds at the same site and other reputable on-line sites are averaging about $7,500 or more. I can’t see why this one is so much cheaper! I emailed their customer service and asked point blank, and I’m waiting for a reply, but I’d like other opinions in the meantime. According to the AGS report:
Shape: Round brilliant
Cut: Ideal
Carat: 1.205
Clarity: VS1
Color: J
Light Performance: Ideal
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal (6.82 x 6.80 x 4.20)
Florescence: negligible
Table: 56.9
Depth: 61.6
Crown angle: 34.8 degrees, 14.7%
Pavillion angle: 40.9 degrees, 43.2%
Girdle: thin to slightly thick
Culet: pointed
One small crystal is plotted in the table, which on a VS1, no one could see with the naked eye. No other marks plotted, no comments noted. So what could possibly be wrong with it? They have a money back guarantee and they are one of the most reputable on-line dealers out there. So I’m really baffled. Advice, anyone? Should I tell my fiance to snap it up quick while he’s got the chance?
