What's with all the spammers on RT and SMTB lately?

What's with all the spammers on RT & Show Me The Bling lately? I logged on here the other day and there were literally dozens of spam messages crowding the boards, and there have been numerous ones the last few days - is there some way, other than reporting them to stop them even appearing?

Suspect the upgrade had something to do with it- somehow hacker got in? Am hopeful they will sort out. Fingers crossed.
