I have a pave etoile with a .47ct center and it is super low profile. it''s as comfy as just wearing a band, even the pave doesn''t catch on anything. i alternate it with my asscher halo as an er and i tend to wear it instead of my halo if i''m doing anything with my hands. good luck with your decision!

I take on and off gloves too, and I wear a RHR with 4 prongs all the time and it is not a problem. I think the key is to make sure it is well set, so the ring will not catch on to you gloves as often. My jeweler stated she always runs a ring across her nylons before giving to the owner, and sends it back to the benchman if there are problems. My sapphire is about the size of a 1 ct stone, is a cushion shape and it really does not get in the way. What I worry about more is the frequent hand washing wearing down the plating of the WG. I am not sure if one type of metal can handle soap and water better than another. I think you should consider making a plan to clean the ring on a daily basis since you work in a area with infectious substances.
