Hahaha I have known many (men mainly) who say the same about gift giving a mystery. ... I also agree that homemade gifts (yum cookies) can mean more than store bought gifts.

Gifting does seem to be an even greater mistery for men, sure enough! Just as well that most diamonds are round anyway ,)

I am laughing re cookies: I had not made them, but did track accross town to buy them from a convent (they bake fantastic & sell amazing stuff for the holidays - a curious & very sweet local custom).

Tyler Perry just paid off more than $432,000 in layaways at 2 Walmart’s. He posted a video saying he knows it’s hard times for some and that some people are struggling. He is really really grateful to be in position to do this, God bless you, go get your stuff! He was giddy with happiness in the video.

I LOVE being able to give gifts to people. I try hard to find just the right thing for each person. Usually something small (pretty rose bush) or useful (set of new towels) but always picked carefully. A couple stand out in my mind as extra special...

For my grandparents' 50th anniversary, we snuck out all of Grandpa's old slides and I scanned them into the computer. He first learned about it when he watched the slideshow we put together for their anniversary party and there were their wedding photos and so many other memories through the years. He goes through the pictures often and has framed some in their home.

Grandma got her wedding ring repaired and polished. She had worn it daily for 40+ years before it broke. They tried to have it repaired but the jeweler was no good. I got it repaired so Grandpa could give it to her on their 59th wedding anniversary. She wears it all the time again and won't even leave it home for her surgeries. It is so special seeing Grandpa wear it on his pinky and her excited to get it back in the recovery room. I catch her admiring it when she thinks no one is looking.
