My diamond was at its dirtiest yesterday when I accidentally dipped the whole thing in Indian curry, somehow didn''t realize it, so it dried on my diamond over the course of 24 hours. YUCK

LOL I can''t remember what, but I''ve also slathered my rings in something I was cooking as well...

Changing a poopy diaper. Let me tell you, that was yucky.

I think you might win.

I have gotten baby good stuck on there. Don''t think poop but anything is possible with a baby.

Years ago my Pug ate one of my diamond studs. I went through the poop for about 48 hours before I found it.

What was dirtier? My hands (ew!) or my diamond? (EW EW EW)

Uck, that is beyond anything I''ve read about here on PS as far as retriving a lost diamond.

Early on, when I first joined PS, I took my eng. ring into a jeweler to get it cleaned and when I left the store, the girdle part was still dirty. Basically, it was so gunky that even a professional clean didn''t do the trick. Luckily a toothbrush did.

Not close to as gross as poo, but still icky:

I bought my bezeled eternity ring second hand and it was appraised by a third party prior to being sent to me - the diamonds were graded as I color.

When I recieved the ring it had not been cleaned and the little spaces behind the diamonds were crammed fill of gross yellowish gunk - skin flakes, bits of blue paint flecks/ plastic (?) and hand cream.

Cleaning out a stranger's ring detritus I had no part in creating = eeewww!

(my ring is nice and clean now though! - I wonder if the stone would still be graded as an I?)

It got dipped in dog vomit when one of my dogs was sick

! I was so panicked that the dog was sick that I didn''t even think about my ring when I went to clean up. It definitely got a good scrub after that!

When I was married the first time, I never took my rings off. The hardest thing to clean off of and out of them was meatloaf and meatballs. The fat from the meat was very stubborn to clean.

Mine was food related as well. I was making a sandwich and ended up with mustard all over my diamond. It wasn''t too bad, but my pave looked dirty for quite some time.

Yes, it''s ICKY EW EW EW

But think about it: if you KNEW your diamond was in that four-legged furkid''s intestine, wouldn''t you keep looking for it?

Similar situation. Our Boston Terrier sleeps with us and one night he woke up and I could tell immediately that he was going to be sick as he has heaving...Long story short I didn''t care about the rings, my biggest concern was taking care of him. He actually vomited into my hands. It was pretty nasty but honestly I didn''t even care as I was so worried about him. I may be obsessed with diamonds but that does not hold a candle to how much I love and cherish our dog.

MIne was definately Filthy after making meatloaf. I forgot it was on and it was DISGUSTING. It took soaking in amonia/hot water/dish detergent mix to get it sparklie clean again

My current one has been kept pretty clean but my original ering got pretty gunked up with hand lotion before I knew any better. Ewe to many of your experiences.

I once was making mud pies with my friend''s son and didn''t even think to take my rings off. I washed my hands later but didn''t focus on the ring. The next day I realized it since there was so much dirt underneath the stone it almost matched my skintone.

I''ve also gotten lotion and food stuck in it.

It happened this weekend, trying to dig DH out of the mud when he did *this* to his car on a sheet of ice!

My rings got pretty dirty this past weekend - I was in Puerto Rico and the safe in the room got stuck "locked" the first time we tried it, so I kept my rings on because I didn''t want to take a chance it would get stuck inside. I wore the rings in the pool, on the beach, in the ocean, and by the time I came out of the ocean it was so cloudy and dirty (I guess from the sand and saltwater)! It was fine after some washing, but it had been pretty dirty...

Other than that, my rings don''t get that dirty because I take them off when I''m cooking and I don''t have kids yet (so no dirty diapers just yet to get in my ring - eww!)
