Inspired by a recent conversation with PetitePoire, I thought I'd ask what goes in everyone's diaper bags.

I live in a historic city in the UK where cars are not allowed in the city centre, so N and I do most of our errands on foot using the stroller. So I have to carry a bunch of stuff in my bag. Here's what's in it:

1. Personal items (only wallet, keys, phone - I'm very minimal in terms of personal items and used to carry tiny purses that only fit these before N was born).
2. 2-3 disposables
3. Pack of disposable wipes
4. 1 cloth-diaper
5. 1 wetbag
6. 1 sippy cup with water
7. Spare onesie
8. Teething crackers
9. 1-2 toys
10. Tissues
11. N's health-book
12. Changing mat
If we're going to be out during meal times, I carry N's food. Before he was on solids, I would also carry a spare bottle and some ready-to-feed formula.

Diapers
Change of Clothes
Diaper cream
plastic bags (for poopy diapers)
Epi Pens (food allergies)
snacks
wipes
a few toys
sunscreen

I feel like I don't carry around that much, but I'm sure when I list it out it will look like a lot.

3 regular disposable diapers
1 swimming diaper
snacks (mum mums, nibbly fingers bars, dried fruit, oatmeal squeezy thing)
extra pacis
eczema cream
wipes
hand & face wipes
change of clothes
bottle of ibprofen
empty sippy cup
small bottle of water

back in the day I would carry enough formula for 2 bottles and an empty bottle

Oh, and I just peeked in my diaper bag and saw that my passport and the vaccination records are in the side pocket. I have no idea how my passport got there.

Too much...

1. diapers (5-6, which probably isn't necessary, but you never know!)
2. wipes
3. change of clothes, maybe 2 if she hasn't pooed yet (blowout queen!)
4. sun hat
5. sunscreen
6. formula
7. bottle
8. pacifier
9. 2 toys
10. face wipes
11. wallet
12. change pad
13. diaper cream
14. a receiving blanket (in case she blows out on all of her outfits!! )
15. bags for dirty diapers
16. burp cloth
17. bib

Holy moly. That really is a lot, how does it all fit in one bag?! Now that she's eating solids, a spoon and a food pouch go in there too if we'll be out during dinner.

1. 2 cloth diapers
2. 1 wet bag (I'm notorious for forgetting this though)
3. 1 change of clothes
4. changing pad (came with bag)
5. wipes
6. diaper cream
7. pee pee tee pee
8. Stash of disposable diapers
9. 3 small toys
10. 1 burp cloth/pre-fold
11. hand sanitizer
12. wet ones anti bac wipes (for wiping down restaurants)
13. empty sippy cup
14. empty plastic bowl
15. sometimes a spoon/fork
16. thermos of milk
17. snacks (goldfish & cheerios)
18. if I remember, some cut up fruit
19. bib
20. sunhat
21. sunscreen
22. eczema stick
23. wallet
24. phone
25. a small book

(keys I carry on my person)

Oh my, I feel terrible. I hardly carry anything. On a normal day:

1. cell phone, keys, wallet
2. 2-4 disposables, depending on length of outing
3. Huggies travel wipe container (it's thin)
4. sippy cup (I'm just getting the hang of remembering that!)
5. quick snack (chex, crackers, or whatever else small I can easily give her)
6. Sun hat, if we are outside at all

Always in the car:

1.extra diapers
2. wipes
3. basket of toys
4. puffs or other snack
5. nursing cover
6. Cart cover

I've always been terrible at remembering a change of clothes. We only needed them in the early months, so now I never carry any of that. Should I need something, I use it as an excuse to shop! :Up_to_something:

I can't believe I forgot the apostrophe in "What's"!

Um, practically nothing apparently :cheeky:

1. 2 cloth diapers
2. A handful of cloth wipes
3. Small wet bag
4. 1 spare outfit
5. My wallet (which contains my phone and keys too)

If it's going to be a scheduled mealtime I'll throw in a bottle or pouch as appropriate, but not for just in case.

Sometimes I don't even bring my bag, I'll just throw some diaper supplies in a wet bag and leave it in the car and just carry my wallet.

Okay I had to shake my head yes w/your last sentence  I think it is because we are Twin mommas and have Enough to carry as it is

I am proud to report that I no longer carry a nappy bag!

When we go out I just make sure i have a couple of nappies, some wipes, a bib, and Sylvie's plate and fork.

Wow! How do you manage that?

Also, if I had the storksak elizabeth like you do, I'd probably be carrying it around until N is 21 or so.

I have:
stuffed animals
OTHER TOYS, most importantly things that make noise.
change of clothes for her, and one for me
whatever else looked somewhat entertaining and small enough to fit into the bag on my way out the door because i like to overpack.
some pasta. we will both eat it.
a tiny tupperware (ok rubbermaid) container of seasonings, because plain pasta is really bland.
don't judge me, but sometimes a little plastic bottle of Sutter Home wine, pick your flavor: red or white.
WIPES
bottled water and extra formula since the breasts have put a stop to their goodness,
Oh yes, the diapers. Both disposables (2-3) and (2-3) cloth. Have to keep track of rashy looking skin from cloth and slap a disposable one on at the first sign of red marks.
cell phone
cash
all the usual crap an adult carries in her wallet, like business cards, ID, blah.
Pen or pencil
super lightweight, packable rain jacket you can also stuff a baby into.
bib
sunblock
chewing gum
lip gloss
sweater
mini hairbrush
pill bottle full of tylenol, ibuprofen, vitamins

Whoa. I didn't even realize how much crap I had crammed into my bag! Must downsize, toute de suite.

mayerling you made me giggle! Basically I wanted to start carrying my other bags again! So Dot has a Skiphop penguin backback which I will take if I need to bring more stuff (a couple of toys and books, bib, nappies, change of clothes, etc) but if we're just going out to the shops or supermarket or whatever, I just throw the basics in my handbag.

I'm not sure that I will use a nappy bag next time around...

...

Care to sell your elizabeth? :naughty:

I rarely bring a diaper bag anymore...usually its just:

1 or 2 diapers
wipes
sippys

That is for my 2.5 year old and 1.5 year old. They each also have their own little LLBean backpack, so if we need more than that then each kids' items go into their own backpack and they carry them
