So I''m trying to do my dissertation (due next Friday, could I have some dust please?) and the dogs next door are going mental. If this was the only time they''d gone mental I could maybe forgive it, but they bark all day and all night in the back garden which is right opposite my window.

AGH.

I am seriously going nuts. I feel sorry for them, there are 3 Alsatians in a little end of terrace house that is seriously falling apart, no wonder they''re barking. But still. Just for now. Be quiet.

We''re thinking about putting a complaint in to the council about the noise, as well as the constant bonfires. My housemate said today it was illegal to have bonfires during the day? Is that right? I''m in the UK.

What''s grinding your gears ladies?

P.S. I know coming on PS is not helping me do my dissertation either, but I needed to vent!

My DD uses noise cancelling headphones when she does her homework, because my DH works from home and is a loud talker, and he uses speaker phone a lot. I could use those headphones myself.

What annoys me are when the lawn services are out before 7 am on a Saturday and you are trying to sleep in until at least 8 am.

The neighbours kids are the loudest children I have ever hurd. Ever. It is tollerable most of the time but unbareable during the school holidays. These kids have tantrums, cry and scream at all hours of the day and night and they don''t even live close enough that I should be able to hear them. I guess if my mum was a crazy B*tch I''d cry and scream that much too.

That DH thought I was going to hit a little kid in the parking lot because I didn''t come to a complete stop. Instead I slowed down to about 4mph and was about 15 ft away. I saw the kid, caught eyes with the father and obviously was NOT going to hit her. How could he think I would be that irresponsible!

I am the biggest advocate of investing in a high quality pair of noise canceling headphones. Honestly, I should probably thank Beyerdynamics in the Acknowledgments section of my diss.

I have a neighbor who is a musician. And he practices from 1 - 7 a.m. nearly every day. I cannot wait to move.

We have someone staying with us temporarily who has the option of staying somewhere else for a few days, but she will not give me and BF space in our own home!(that''s actually an apartment that would be cramped with a baby)
She watches tv ALL day(we don''t even have cable), stays on the coach all of the time, and talks constantly.
I''m handling it better this week than I have the past couple of weeks, but I''m still going crazy because I just need some alone time with BF. I''m talking about just being able to talk and being calm and peaceful together, we usually just sit on the couch with our laptops together. But she talks no matter what! There is an end date, and it''s getting closer but...AHHHH!

Ugh, sorry about the novel. I can only complain to BF so much, he just doesn''t think about things so then they don''t really bother him.

tardiness. grrrrr

I''m so lucky to live in a detached house now and not have any loud neighbours! but they were cleaning the streets last night at midnight (why city, why?) and it was keeping me awake!

The flip side of this grinds my gears. I can understand if we were having loud parties in our apt or something (which we're not) but we have a cranky old woman who lives above us who thumps on our ceiling about every tiny insignificant noise we make and then complains about us to the landlord! Uggggh! Can't wait to have our own place but that won't be for a loooooooooong time

Also people who have lots of money who think that anyone who doesn't make the same amount as them or more are insignificant wastes of space. I had an ex last night tell me that he thought I was doing horrible because my husband is a loser (whom he's never met) that we live in the middle of bumfudge nowhere (er denver???) and that my life must not be satisfactory because we make less than 100k combined. He then had the nerve to end with "I never should have broken up with you, you're so great!" The funny thing is, we dated just shy of 3 weeks in high school and then I dumped HIM!

I only added him on facebook to see if he had maybe grown up and we could catch up on what's been going on in our lives. Needless to say, after his little rant he went on the permanent block list!! You do NOT insult my family and get away with it, ESPECIALLY if you've never even met them.

Whew I am SO glad to have that off my chest!!!

Baggage checking fees...for out r/t next week, $100 total for baggage checked for FI and I (25 each bag each way)

...that my mother complains to me on a daily basis about things that annoy her on facebook. She doesn''t understand that type of social interaction and I wish she would just close her account!

I''ve been married for 3 days now, and have yet to hear from my mother.

Thank you, I really appreciate it!

I will never understand a mother who can''t be happy for her own child.

I do sympathize but that comment about their mother cracks me up.

HI:

Besides the spring storm that left a massive 4 foot snow drift on my driveway? Sheesh! Give me a dissertation anyday!

Fist of all congrats on your marriage. Secondly I don''t understand how a parent could act that way.

lilyfoot - congratulations on your marriage! It''s so sad that your mum has treated you as she has, but at least you have a lot of lovely PSers who are beyond delighted for you!

So I''ve been in unbearable agony all night and still now. My ear feels like someone''s shoving a knitting needle into it repeatedly, and is getting more and more blocked as time passes, my face aches and throbs, my jaw aches, and if I open my mouth it sends a sharp shooting pain across all the aforementioned painful areas. Even opening it to the extent of licking my lips does this, so I''m not sure how I''m going to eat today, will have to find a straw for drinking.

I have this, and a driving lesson for two hours in about an hour that I can''t cancel as my test is on Wednesday. Monday is my birthday, which we were planning to have a BBQ for, doubt I''ll enjoy that very much. Still got my dissertation to finish for Friday, alongside a group project that has just had the deadline brought forward to, that''s right, Friday.

Rang up for a doctor''s appt this morning, they don''t have any. They aren''t open on saturday or sunday, and won''t be open Monday as it is a bank holiday. I don''t really know what to do, should I go to A&E?

I know there are plenty of others with worse problems than mine right now, but I''m so tired from not having slept at all last night, crying from the pain, and generally feeling sorry for myself that I''m having a hard time seeing the bigger picture.
