After living together for 3 yrs I'm going to finally get her a ring. (Lord knows she deserves a nice one for putting up with me)

I've looked at a lot of diamonds in the past 2 wks and this one might be a keeper but I want to make sure I'm getting a fair price. Any thoughts?

"GIA certified G color SI1 Clarity (Inclusion prongable), polish, symmetry, and cut grade is Excellent with a Laser Inscription on the girdle. The diamond has No fluorescence, and the table is 54% and depth 61.9%. If you want all the specs go to www.gia.edu/reportcheck, and type in the weight of 1.68 and the certificate number #17256112"

The dealer said its also a Hearts and Arrows stone

Thanks - this really helps

USA Certed has THIS that they claim is H & A, but it''s EGL for $8463. I''d be a little leary of it.

I would imagine at least $12 to $13K or more would be average for a GIA.

This diamond looks promising! As to whether it is a true hearts and arrows diamond and that matters to you, then you will need to ask the jeweller for images of the hearts and arrows patterning to be able to determine if this diamond meets the standards. If you just want a diamond which sparkles and has a nice arrow pattern, if this diamond doesn't quite meet the standard for H&A, it could still be a fine choice, it depends on what you value most.

Here is a tutorial on H&A which may be helpful - https://www.pricescope.com/hearts_indx.asp

As for pricing, you can use the search tool above to compare prices of similar.
