The windmills are a little narrow. Is it too dark in the center?

Do you like the look of the narrow windmills?
Also an I is going to show some color.
If both of those are ok with you then get more pictures.
Crown height is also needed, they can run an ogi scan on it.

crown height on this diamond is 17.1% and the pavilion is 48.5%. I''m working on additional pics.

Wow, isn''t that a high crown strm? and isn''t that good? or can they get too high?

17% is great.

Nope cant get too high as long as the pavilion angles match the crown angles.

Cool. Thanks!

I like it, but don't like the spread. Then again, you can't have it all.

STRDR - hey, you've already directed me to an expert on aschers, but can you explain what the above means?? I've drawn out my own diamond diagram to learn what all these terms and angles refer to, but I don't understand what the effect is if these numbers are good. In the example on this thread, the pavilion and crown angles are off by a full 10%. Is that a big deal? which one should be larger, etc.?

Also, what do you look for in the windmills?

unfortunatly that confirms what I suspected from the other image but wasnt sure.
More solid light return from the center would make for better looking stone.

the diagram means that the OGI didnt track the pavilion facets properly. (check the depth differece frpm the gia cert)
The only useful number is the crown height.
one is first pavilion step(its wrong) and one the first crown step but the pavilion number is impossible.

I like larger windmills than these but its somewhat a matter of like and dislike rather than a set in stone quality issue.

If the center had stronger light return then it would be up too the buyer on the windmills and get a passing grade of VG/EX.

unfortunatly Im not finding anything better on the JA website and dont have time right now too do a PS search but will be back later.

if you want too stick to I here are couple worth calling in..
1.00 I VS2 68% 58% GIA med-stk no vg vg no 5.58*5.50*3.74 $3082
1.03 I VS2 65.8% 56% GIA stk-thk no vg vg no 5.66*5.65*3.72 $3173

I prefer lager windmills (20-24% corners), but they seem very hard to find. I have about $4000 to spend on the center stone. I already have the setting. If anyone know a better way to find asschers with larger windmills, besides trial and error, let me know.

call or email Jon at www.goodoldgold.com and have him call the cutter he works with and see if he has any.
He will then call in 2 for free for evaluation and pictures if they are available.
You may have to be flexible on color clarity and size within reason too pull it off.
