I have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season and I thought it would be nice to read what others are thankful for too. It can be about anything you wish to share.

- My wonderful Pricescope friends, PS mod/admin, and this site for fun time!

- My parents, I am definitely grateful for them and all they have taught me.

- My family and of course my sweet husband who supports me in my ambitions/dreams etc; he is my rock.

- Nice weather, gorgeous blue skies here where I live.

- My health, I feel blessed to have that.

- Wonderful friends I catch up with or call up to just chat.

- Having Thanksgiving dinner with my family.

- Having the sweetest nephews that I adore!

My dog was hit by a car late Saturday night. I am thankful that he lived through it and is home safe in my house again as of this morning.

Poor little guy, he''s made it through the worst but will be just fine

Oh gosh, I am sorry, I am glad he is home with you now. I will pray for a speedy recovery Starset.

I am thankful for:

my friends, both here and in real life.
health of my family and me (including our animals)
having an AMAZING Husband
My home
My dreams
My job

I posted this over in LIW board as well. But thought I'd contribute here too!!

I am thankful for many things but this year I am mostly thankful for:
* My NEW job (so much better than the last)
* More free time with FF
* My wonderful and loving Mom & Dad (I keep cherishing every moment with them because I know years fly by and then before I know it, I'll be
married...VERY hard for me)
* My Brother
* FF and our amazing everlasting love of 10 years
* FF finally finishing college back in May (long time waiting)
* The great childhood memories that my parents have given me
* Being blessed with the most amazing time growing up with my little angel doggie for 16 years (passed away 3 years ago)

Lastly, I am thankful for all my PS friends/family. You have all been so wonderful and supportive in my time here!!

I''m thankful that I''ve got nothing to be unthankful about.

But yeah, if I had to pick one, I guess it''d be the kid.

Starset - so glad to hear puppy is going to be OK!

Skippy - thank you for this thread. I look forward to reading the responses.

I'm thankful for my husband most of all - I am so lucky to have the one person in this world who understands me fully, respects and values me, and loves me despite my many flaws.
I'm thankful for my family - they are an interesting bunch to be sure, but love is certainly not something that we lack in our lives. Included in that are my in-laws - I can't imagine being more accepted into a family.
I'm thankful for my kitties - healthy and happy.
I'm thankful for a beautiful home and a mortgage after feeling like I was going to rent forever and never feel rooted.
I'm thankful for my city and the new life that DH and I have established here over the last year - for the friends I've made here, my students, my colleagues, the strangers, and all the places to explore. I'm thankful that I finally feel like I'm at home.
And finally, I'm thankful for writers - everyone who writes here on PS, those who write books, essays, those on NPR and in newspapers and magazines - though my work life is dedicated to the study of writing, I think I often forget to stop and think about valuable written ideas and expressions are in my daily life.

i am thankful for
my health
my family
that we are ok financially in these unsure times
pricescope people
my furbabies
my happiness

What a lovely thread! Thanks for starting it Skippy!

- I''m thankful that for some reason I have been chosen to be the parent of my very special children - I marvel at this every day. They are such wonderful people. Every day I feel so proud and lucky to be their mama.

- I''m thankful for DH. He does dishes and brings me breakfast in bed! Utter perfection...For me anyway!!!
28.gif

- I''m very thankful for my parents and sister. I know they are there when I need them.

- I''m thankful for nieces and nephews! They are a delight. I love hearing, "Aunt Miranda" (said in a nasalish kid tone) almost as much as I love hearing, "Mommy!"

- I''m thankful I live in a place that I love and have so many wonderful neighbors.

- I''m thankful for all of my friends. I''m especially grateful for a really good friend that I see every day. She is pure sunshine!

- I''m thankful for my pets. They are hilarious, they give me someone to talk to all day, and they are down with snuggling at any time!

- I''m thankful for Pricescope! It really is a wonderful community! I''ve *met* so many nice people.

- I''m most thankful that my grandma is alive for at least one more Thanksgiving. She''s been ill so I cherish any time I have left with her.

I could go on and on! There is so much I''m grateful for!

Great thread Skippy!!

I have much to be thankful for...

My DH. We just had the best time away. He's a wonderful person. I am a lucky gal. Plus he's an awesome dad...

My kids, oh they are my heart. I just adore them so. They are such fun, and are kind people. They make me smile.

My friends, I have a close cirlce, we all are going through the aging parent thing. We always have a great time. I am blessed they are a part of my life.

My pets, yes the bird is still chirping, Khackie is going on 12? Casper is 13 and miss Callie is 9. They are such fun, and bring us much joy.

My Aunt, she has always been there for me, more so now, as we deal with my parents. Her warmth and compassion are endless. I love her to pieces.

My Dad, it's been a hard road, but one that we have survived. I wish Mom would make that journey too, but it's not going to happen. I am thankful I have the ability to live and let live.

My Elizabeth who raised me, is out of the hospital and home, after another struggle with heart failure. She means the world to me, so am glad she's doing so well.

My PS friends, you all are amazing, and are wonderful people. This community means a lot to me.

2. My family''s health.

Here is a little history of when Thanksgiving was made an official holiday by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863:

http://showcase.netins.net/web/creative/lincoln/speeches/thanks.htm

By the President of the United States of America.

A Proclamation.

The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle or the ship; the axe has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consiousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity and Union.

In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the City of Washington, this Third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the Unites States the Eighty-eighth.

By the President: Abraham Lincoln

William H. Seward,
Secretary of State

Fun!

I''m thankful for:

My amazing family, as always.
My BF, the most fantastic guy I''ve ever met (even on the days when he leaves a dirty knife six inches from the sink and doesn''t get why I''m annoyed)
My friends, new and old.
My job. I may not love it (or really even like it) but it''s steady and keeps a roof over my head, food in my fridge, and health insurance.
My kitties. They make my days and nights better, even when I have to wake up 3 times each night to let them in the bedroom, kick them out, and let them in again.
I''m thankful that in 3 weeks my only debt will be student loans, and thankful that my BF is practical enough to realize that less debt is the best gift we can give to ourselves and each other. We may not share finances now, but we will eventually, and good financial habits are gifts that keep on giving.
I''m thankful for my incredible life. It may not be the flashiest, fanciest life, but it''s mine and I love it.

And, though I think it goes without saying, PS.

I am thankful my husband, who was laid off 3 weeks ago, got rehired!

I am thankful 3 weeks gave me time to think of all I really have to be thankful for!

Wonderful thread Miss Skippy!

I''m thankful that I''m still alive,
I''m thankful for my wonderful husband and family,

No kidding.

The beautiful new house my fiancee and I are closing on tomorrow!!!!

But even more importantly, my family, my health, my family''s health (especially my dad who had a rough year but is now better!), financial stability--so far and for the most part, and the fact that I''m working with GREAT kids this year at my job and it''s been so nice and virtually stress free!

And I''m thankful for my doggies too!

I''m so glad your dog is ok starset!!

Oh--- and I almost forgot. Someone (gotta be the parents) anonymously bought us a bed for our new house and is having it delivered Saturday. Given that we are tight on money due to the closing and want a king size so us and our dogs can all fit comfortably, that helps A LOT!!! I''m thankful for how much my family loves to help out. They are really great!

Aprilbaby, oh I am so glad your hubby found a job!

Catmom, I am thankful you are here with us too!!!

Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I think I know what it is thing2!!!

(I''m guessing it''s gloating over "that thing" that also got you de-friended by your brother...What I wouldn''t give to be at your Thanksgiving table!!!!)
