What would you want to do if this was your last week on earth?

If you knew you only had one week left to live:
1. What one thing would you want to enjoy before you die
or
2. What one thing would you like to accomplish before you die

We'll, we live in a beautiful country and you don't even have to go to the Highlands to enjoy it, there is wonder to experience just by stepping out the front door. So I would go for a walk every day with my kids and hubby and enjoy coffee and cake afterwards, because who's counting calories now.

@missy from your other posts you are having a really hard time right now and I'm guessing this is the middle of your night/very early morning and I hope you are doing ok.

Aww thank you. I am hanging in there. We are taking it one day at a time and one hour at a time and when that is too challenging one minute at a time. Forward and onward. Thank you for caring.

I love what you would do your last week on earth. And agree. It's the simple pleasures in life that mean everything. A walk on the beach with our loved ones. A walk in the country. Just breathing in the fresh air and sounds of nature. Enjoy.

Yes to all the above. Especially hugging your sweet kitties as much as possible. I miss that very much. Not being able to hug them.
And I am guessing Gary is your SO and a big yes to spending as much time as possible with our loved ones.

I would want to spend my last week the same as I have spent every day before. With my dh and my kitties and enjoying the beach, the sea and cycling. There is nothing better in our world than enjoying the above. Nothing else I wish I could do, no adventure I long for. Just simple sweet every day life with our dear loved ones. Enjoying each moment as that is all we are promised.

Ditto! I would spend it with my loved ones, preferably at the shore, making memories that would hopefully help them through the grief of loss that I feel often about my deceased loves.

Oh...and some of my favorite foods would be indulged in as well! =)2

Yeah, I'd do pretty much what I always do ... but I would make sure my financial and jewelry paperwork was in order and easily accessible (which is a project already on my list to complete by end of August)

I'd switch off all my electronics. I'd tell all the people in my life who I love all the final take-aways I wanted them to know on how precious they are to me. I'd go to the ocean and swim. I'd watch the sunrises and sunsets. I wouldn't sleep. I'd hold my husband's hand for every minute.

I'd also finally order that dough basket special at my local diner and wash it down with an ice cream strawberry frap!

I think the one thing I'd want to accomplish is writing one more book, seeing my god-kids marry, going home to Australia one more time, doing everything I could to make sure my husband was as well taken care of as I could manage, given the situation. That's four things, granted, but they battle for #1.

ETA I asked my DH what one thing he'd want to accomplish before he died and he said "Find a cure." Ever practical.

Get my life in order, go to NYC with Chris for 15 day and then off to Texas with Mike and family. We never know, and as I am what I considered OLD when I was in my 30s, I value each day.

Lady, you have one of the youngest hearts I know. I hope you live forever; the world would be better for it.

I'd just like to invite my closest friends/relatives and have them come over and hang out with me. That's pretty much it.

I would also try to arrange things so my husband didn't have responsibilities toward my stuff/funeral arranging/etc once I was gone... and arrange for someone to watch him 24/7 as well.

growing up in the shaky isles as a kid i was never afraid of earthquakes
we lived on the flat out by the beach so we felt everyone and the lights outside my bedroom door would tinkle in the hall but mum and dad were always there
but since ive seen what they can do and not on the news of some foreign country but at my sister's house they worry me now and now all those hurricans and tornadoes on the news just break my heart too
before we left Wellington there was another big one down south in the middle of the night and i have never been so scared. it went on for 2min and then had many aftershocks, lucky we lived on rock so not one thing was damaged or even fell on the floor but in town people lost their apartments and some big high rise buildings on the water front were written off
anyway ... at night i like little Borris to sleep on the bed with us so if anything bad happens we are all together and here we live on pumus and we feel 2s and 3s - the walls will shudder but not the china cabinet
anyway i just like being home with Gary and Borris when the earth rumbles

I’d watch every sunrise and sunset and go out at night to look at the stars. I’d spend as much time as I could with my husband. I’d make one last call to my closest family and friends but I doubt I’d tell them what’s going on. I would take a drive up to the mountains. I’d get my affairs in order and write down my final wishes.

Go and see as many of those who are dear to me to say goodbye.
Say goodbye to the pets before handing them over to their next homes.
Have my favourite meal with drinks.

DK :))

Make sure my affairs are in order for after I pass in terms of a will and things.
Say goodbye to the handful of people I’d want to say bye to and help them plan for after.
And then hang out with my BFF and binge eat good food and drinks. :p

I actually don’t think I’d want to spend the whole time with DH because I think he’d just cry and be sad the whole time and suffer. :/ long goodbyes like that are tough. And maybe it’s selfish but if it’s my last week I want to party and laugh lol. And I can’t see how a week of looking at me and crying would be a good thing for him either. It’s not like I could help him come to terms with it in a week. I don’t find the idea of my dying sad so I’d just want to do stuff I like until then. I’d make sure I talk to our friends and family to look after him.

I would however hang with my pupper the whole time. She’d be so happy that I don’t have to work and can be with her all day all the time!

Yeah I'd just spent lots of time outdoors, enjoying nature. Visit my best friend one last time. Tell all my family & friends how much I loved them, how lucky & blessed I was in life. :kiss2: Cuddle my dog for hours...

I'd probably take my mom and husband on a trip somewhere. I'd want to spend as much time with both of them as possible, but see something exciting before I go! And obviously go somewhere with amazing food so I could eat my face off before I croak.

Spend it somewhere with warm beaches, nature, and beautiful sunsets surrounded by honey and our little zoo. Pay someone to manage every bit of minutiae so we can make the most of our time together. :kiss2:

Three things I’d like to do before I go
1. See the Northern Lights
2. Stand on Antarctica
3. Swim with the water Iguanas at the Galapagos
I’d do that with DH and DD but I wouldn’t tell them I had just 1 week it would make them sad.
Live each day as if it’s your last, that’s my motto.

I'd cuddle with my family and get all my paperwork in order so my grieving relatives don't have to do this. Then I'd probably spend a lot ot time writing letters and recording audio messages for my kids for all their major life events I'd miss and they'd have to live without their mom.
In fact I've been meaning to do this just in case for a long time, hoping they will not need to read those letters.

I recently put in place a detailed rescue plan for my twin ragdoll cats, an Underground Railroad if you will. A difficult convo to have, but it made me feel better to know they would be whisked to safety very quickly if I were gone. The problem is most rescue groups or shelters can’t guarantee that they would be kept together for life (in utero together and have never been apart in all these years) but they will safe be with my little team of 4 freedom fighters working to get them to a new home together. My jewellery and money goes with them. They are my only real worry.

Beyond that, I’d want to go to Waterville, co Kerry, and sit on the rocky beach all day and night till my time was up.

As an aside, I have a cat who is 16 yrs old and frail. She gets medical care at the drop of a hat, but other than that she sunbathes and naps all day. We play with ribbon and stuffy mice, and she eats treats like they were kibble. She loves Gerber chicken baby food from the jar (stage 2 formula is vet approved) and I don’t care if the cashier thinks it’s weird for me to buy a case at a time. Her five different bed-baskets have memory foam inserts to cushion her old bones and real sheepskin toppers for warmth. I give her everything she could possibly want, including loving affection and time alone. She probably has more than a week left right now, but soon she will have only that, and I hope it won’t happen when I’m on a work trip because I’ve sworn that she will pass with me by her side. My partner and I have agreed that the euthanasia will be done at home, by a specialist who does house calls. It costs a fair chunk, but every trip to the vet for her is agony. I will spare her the last one.

Best wishes for everyone here. May you live exactly as long and as well as your heart desires.

Ditch work! I’d shop til I drop and charge up all my credit cards, and buy ridiculously indulgent things that I have never been able to get for myself. I would also eat all the bread and pasta I want, because I have controlled my carb intake for most of my adult life. I would do all this with my loved ones who love to shop and eat as much as I do!

I forgot about carbs! Yes, I would eat nothing but cake and pasta... imagine the epic stomach ache though!
