A South Sea pearl necklace.

Okay, I'd like to amend my answer. I still want all the things I listed before, but if I could find a gorgeous paraiba tourmaline, I'd spend every dime on that. I also want a nice tsavorite and a spess. Depending on what was available, I could just as easily go for a rainbow of colored gems as the other pieces I mentioned...

Wow so many great things to choose from. I don''t know if I''d blow it all on a ''statement piece'' by Bridget Durnell-- I saw something flat out STUNNING of hers locally and was considering a custom piece by her.

Or the smaller Tiffany Garden Flower pendant (3800), a pair of bezeled 18K WG studs from BGD, and a Blue Nile type Garlnad band with my diamonds from my 7 stone by BGD.

On the one hand, the one designer piece would be amazing an heirloom, and just wonderful. On the other hand... and ears, and neck... I''d get three pieces of lovely jewelry.

I dunno. It would be fun to be faced with the decision though.

I''ve never heard of this designer - that''s some really cool stuff!! All swirly and unique is right up my alley! I''d love to see the piece you fell for :)

Earrings.

And a huge 5 stone :)

Cehra... this is the piece. I had to resize the pic and it's not as amazing at this scale. The pave work is exquisite.

omg gypsy - I LOVE that designer! I have never seen such a big collection of "I love it just as it is" stuff! She has manifested several design ideas I''ve had floating in my head for a long time now and I''m thrilled to at least be able to see what it would look like. Gorgeous stuff!!! Please describe the piece you were looking at!!

sorry - didn''t see this, was too excited to post haha - that''s a beautiful pendant!!! What kind of stone is that? Looksl ike a black moonstone? i''ve never seen one like that, it''s really gorgeous!

Oh my! First, I would try to sneak the money to my travel fund. If not, then:

1- Statement piece by a fantastic modern designer who works with good quality stones. Probably a pendant/brooch. Perhaps a Munsteiner?
2- medium sized asscher in a lighter colour (violet, blue, yellow or pink) in a baquette setting
3- thin diamond tennis bracelet
4- nice coloured stone pendant

So, around $2k for each item. 2 and 4 will probably be under budget, leaving more for 1.

I''d get the Lucida eternity band 4mm
Diamond bracelet

Hi Cehra, yes her work is lovely and that is a Moonstone. You should see it in person. It easily rivals Leon's pave.

Problem with that necklace is... it's over $13K. Yup you read that right. I just can't see myself spending over $13K for a Moonstone, no matter how lovely a piece of it, or how large. I looked up some moonstones and the most expensive piece I can find is way under 1000. So... that's just a lot of money for a piece (no matter how stunning) with a huge inexpensive stone as the centerpiece and no large diamonds anywhere. But I gotta tell you... it was like "where have you been all my life" when I saw it and put it on, I never wanted to take it off, and it was just so "Me."

So I contacted Pearlmans to see if what else Durnell has up her sleeve and she offered to custom make a one of a kind piece in a (much) more comfortable price range. And I'm interviewing at a company that I was to work for SO SO SO BADLY, treats it's employees well, is financially stable, has a great reputation and does cutting edge work in their legal deparment, so if I get the job (fingers and toes crossed) I might reward myself with a a nice piece of jewelry. Originally it was going to be the Tiffany Garden Flower pendant, because the rose cuts in the petals are just out of this world, but when I tried on that moonstone necklace. Man I went head over heels. Now I'm just waiting for the company to get back to me (and praying they say that they want me) and idly day dreaming.

I know you've been looking for something special... anything of hers strike your fancy?

I wouldn't mind a vicarious thrill of a good friend getting something beautiful from her.

Temple St Claire (doesn't that sound like a name from a bodice ripper?

) does some impressive moonstone pieces and most are over $2k. There is a stunning moonstone necklace for $6.5k, if I am not mistaken, as well as a sweet moonstone-by-the-yard necklace. But, yeah, $13k is way too much money.

Richard Wise has a pair of 5ct moonstones for $4k, if I am not mistaken, as well as a single stone that was close to the same price tag. Gorgeous, gorgeous stones.

It is very hard to find the very top moonstones, though, and most of the material we find is just ok.

Good luck on the job!

Definitely bodice ripper. LOL. I left a message for Richard Wise about sourcing a moonstone for me. Off to see the bodice ripper... UM... designer's website now.

Thank you for the wellwishes Lady D.

I checked out Temple's website... there are a few necklaces with 20plus carat moonstones that are around or over 10K... but well... I think those are overpriced too. LOL.

If I can get a nice piece from Richard, I can ask if Durnell will make me a setting with it. Might be a plan. Thanks for the advice.

Wow tough one

im not too sure...im thinking maybe a small cartier rolling ring with a pave diamond white gold band.... and a diamond ''C'' Canturi pendant.

Or i might just sink it all in a whiteflash bellerina pendant
