A while back I purchased this little antique pear cut from Grace (photo credit goes to her). I've just been admiring it all this time and I'm wondering how to set it. What is tricky is that I doubt I will ever find a match for it. It is ~.3 carats and I don't remember the exact measurements, but believe it is 4 mm x 3 mm or so. It's truly small! Thoughts??

It's beautiful! I would be tempted to have a pendant made for it, antique style with filigree?

It is a beautiful diamond. I immediately thought of a pendant in a halo setting.

Thank you Marcy and AlexT. I quite love it, too. I do wish I had a machine that could enlarge it  . Although I am a ring fanatic, I do like the idea of a pendant. I was thinking halo as well, or something antique like you suggested Alex T. But the stones in the halo would have to be teeny tiny for it to look proportional, right?

To add size what about a double halo, one with diamonds and one with gemstones next to the diamond? Put that is an antique setting and I think it would be a nice sized piece of jewelry. Maybe with diamonds on the shank too?

To add bulk and finger coverage, I would set it north-south in a band of the same width, in either bezel or tension setting in a plain shiny band.

DK :))

Oh, I like the idea of a double halo. Something like this?

I like that idea!! That would make it really wearable and I could stack it with other rings. Thanks for your input!

Yumalicious, yes! :lickout:

you could also do a bezel with millegrain and then a halo. it is a lovely stone!

Thank you SparklySoprano!

Artdecolover - I love that idea!!

Lookinagain - How did I miss that thread?!? It was not too long ago. Thank you so much for sharing. I got a lot of good ideas.

Here is a photo of it on my size seven finger to give you all a sense of size.
