....."Can I try your ring on?"
My and my girlfriends were at lunch when a passer-by noticed one of their e-rings and had to stop and ooooh and ahh. She is recently engaged and is the most understaded, classic gal I know, so to have someone notice her very important piece of jewelry made me smile! They talked about her stone for a bit and the woman proceeded to ask Kelli if she could try her ring on. Since we were in a tiny bistro that we frequent quite often she allowed this, and the woman proceeded to LEAVE our table and go SIT at hers with her friends. I don''t think she excpected this, so her and I ran over there to ask her ring back. The woman looked shocked that we almost jumped over tables to get to her, and was very aloof about the whole scene and felt the need to tell us we were being very rude about it!!
I didn''t give my girlfriend the "Oh my gosh, she could have stolen your ring yada yada" speech even though I wanted to!! You never know with some people!
Do some of you ladies allow others to try your things on whom you don''t know? I would *never* ask someone to wear a piece of jewelry, let alone an engagement ring!
