#2...I'm not really into fancy settings. I like it simple.2) Keep a relatively simple setting and get a bigger stone (I have a good trade-in policy)
Oh man! Great timing for this... My 10th wedding anniversary is next year (Dec. 23rd but I'm already researching ahaha) and I want to do an upgrade.
I'm torn between 3 options:
1) Keep my center stone (1.01 H VS2 round) and do a major setting upgrade.
2) Keep a relatively simple setting and get a bigger stone (I have a good trade-in policy)
3) Get something entirely different like a nice 5 or 7 stone ring to wear alone
After the holidays die down I think I'm going to go to a store in person and look at lots of options and see what speaks to me. I'm all over the map... change stone shape? Change to rose gold from white gold? Do I want accent colors? I'm a mess haha.
I wish that I'd been consulted, even a little! I love interesting settings, but I was proposed to with the plainest one my husband could find, apparently!
Everything! I didn’t have one![]()
I would have gotten a slightly larger centre stone because i love my setting even if its not perfect. The halo is just slightly too chunky for my grandmother's stone. But it wasn't in the cards to buy a stone plus a setting. So I'll just wait until I can get the beautiful sapphire i have dreamed of since I first started coming here later on lmao.
Well I love Bea but wouldn't mind her being bigger...
The setting is just perfect though. Wouldn't change a thing about that!
Wish I had smaller more delicate fingers!!! You ladies with a size 4 or 5 have it made IMO.
Haha AM pic with Bea and Bobby. Tell me the truth, I mean doesn't she look small on my huge man hands? Yes she does.
But I still love her.
However I wouldn't say no to bigger.![]()
MM, just checked out your ring and it’s gorgeous, I love the halo size - the only problem is you didn’t post enough pics of it.![]()
Talk to your hubby..Everything! I didn’t have one![]()
Good question @missy . One that I have given a lot of thought to as reading through this thread. I honestly can’t think of anything major I would change in my life. I know I am fortunate. I’ve been though the absolute heartache of losing loved ones, but I was present for them in the most important ways.
There are some minor things I might change (still can’t name any), but I am lucky. I am in a good place in my life and changing anything might have resulted in a different outcome.
Great query and I have enjoyed the responses and the thought it elicited from me.
I don't think she looks small. What size are your "man hands"?
I've had a look at a conversion chart and i would be between a US 7 and 8. I call mine man hands too, if I haven't got longish nails or they're not painted they look manly. My ex-husband and I had the same size wedding rings!
As for me, I am 98% happy, but as it is an antique there is a tiny part where it is misshapen (due to previous damage) and there is one diamond in the halo that sometimes looks like it's missing but then it catches the light again and I see it is there.
I think it all adds to the character of the ring and the story it tells. Wish I knew its history.
I don't think it needs to be bigger, there aren't many people I know with bigger stones.![]()
Sandeek I think you responded in the wrong thread...I think you meant this response for this thread.

Omgoodness, oops! Thanks @missy I guess the week off from work is really affecting my brain! Or maybe it's the cold. Sorry to derail the thread!
My ring finger is about a size 6 but that's not the problem...it's that my hands are large and my knuckles have issues and are big so that is more the issue for me. I definitely have large hands and when I used to play the piano it served me well. I am only 5'6" (and about 112 lbs) but my hands and feet are large and my arms and legs very long. So in comparison Bea looks smaller on me than my friends with lovely delicate petite hands. It is quite the difference and I do have DSS but LOL what can a girl do. Cannot change the size of one's hands though some girls here talk about liposuction I don't think that is possible for one's hands haha. And even if it was no thanks. I am thankful for what my hands can do and not seriously wanting to change them in anyway. Except my knuckles. I really hate my knuckles. :/
