Settle a dispute for us please. What color would you call this sapphire? I say indigo, she says London blue. London blue is topaz or am I crazy? Lol. Pictures taken outside on cloudy day.20200727_134153~2.jpg20200727_134837.jpg

I would call it Blue, or medium-to-dark blue, or royal blue.

On my monitor, based on the photos posted above, I don't see indigo (not dark enough) and I don't see London Blue (not inky enough).

My first impression when I saw the sapphire was royal blue! But pictures can disguise the true color depending on what type of lighting environment it was taken in. So I agree with @marymm! Med-dark sapphire, royal blue. I’ve always associated London blue color stones for topazes....

Thank you both for humoring our little discussion. I guess we both lost. Lol

Not London Blue. Lot of London blue has a green modifier. Almost Royal blue on my screen, but just a hair to grayish for that.

Well if or helps its a very pleasing shade of blue saphire

100% agree with this. It's definitely not London Blue as it's missing the inkiness, and not indigo either as indigo is more purple.

I would have thought it's closer to royal blue too.

I don't even know what is considered indigo, royal, etc.:errrr: I just go by light, medium or dark and the variations in between, plus any sort of modifiers if it has any, and also degree of saturation.

Thank you everyone. I love the stone regardless, we were just curious.

I call it medium-dark blue.

Medium dark blue or Royal blue to my untrained eyes.
