I apologize in advance, I have no idea how to create polls...

A) Pretty easy going, but decisive, keep the things you purchase most of the time.
B) Buy a ton of things, only to return/exchange most of them?
C) Very thorough, need to compare a ton of options/stores before pulling the trigger, but still unsure you made the right choice.
D) Hate shopping for anything, and would gladly accept things from friends/family.
E) Other. Please share....

I'm A.
I'd say I'm confident in my purchases, even if something were a great deal (under $10), if I'm not sure I'll wear it or use it, I let the deal pass. I use and love everything I purchase, and have no regrets...everything from 99c store items to larger purchases such as my car...

C)... except i do it on the internet....

Between those choices, I guess I'm most like A. My FF is definitely a C though, and sometimes when we buy something together, we drive each other crazy!

My FF researches for literally months sometimes. He told me that it took him six months of researching and reading reviews before he bought his big TV. I do agree with researching to an extent, but I often see something in the store or online and know that I want it. I then try to go home and read reviews, but it's difficult for me, because when I do see something, I want it right away.

I return/exchange sometimes, but I keep most of the things that I purchase.

When it comes to clothes and small stuff, I tend to buy in bulk when I find something I like, only to end up with 5 of the same sweater in different colors. I recently bought a shirt dress, only to go back the next day and buy another in a different color! I also buy lots of things impulsively, like a B shopper, but instead of returning the items I don't actually want they sit in my closet for the next 3 years until I finally donate them...

With electronics and big ticket items, I'm likely to do lots of research, never really understanding anything, until I finally just pick something because I'm sick of thinking about it. I do try to have friends who know stuff about stuff so they can keep me from bad purchases. Sometimes it works, sometimes, not so much.

I'm SO option C. In fact, it's why I found this place. I research almost everything (especially higher-dollar purchases) to find the best deal or the best value for my money. It's equal parts frustrating and fun, I'll admit.

E. Despise shopping, try to do most of it online.

I always have several of the same shirt in different colors, too! Last winter, I literally bought the same sweater in six different colors, because it was a basic cut and I love the material (it's difficult to find). Also, once I find a brand and fit of jeans that I like, I buy them in every wash, and buy multiple pairs of my favorite washes. :)

E. I'm all about the hunt and kill :cheeky: That's how I found PS. I love jewelry but never quite had the means to buy what I wanted from B&M stores. Then I found pawn shops  I always impress myself with how much I can get with such little moola and it became into a love of the hunt. The only part that makes me sad is that people think I'm out there wasting all this money on jewelry when in reality I usually spend no more then $200 for a single piece. I've been eyeballing this pretty .25 carat round in a plat. bypass setting which I could probably talk them down to $125 for....hmmmmmmm.... :cheeky:

For clothing, I tend to be more of an A (but I can go a bit crazy on very good sales).

For more expensive items, I go all nuts researching - too much sometimes. I get a little obcessed and, after I buy whatever, I sometimes get caught up wondering if model B would have been better or if I should have waited for the new model, etc.

Since my mother and sister both have exquisite taste, I am always ready to accept their things, though.

So - I am a bit of everything, depending on the circumstances.

Total type C. I will happily hunt down coupons, best price, etc. for a fifty-dollar item.

Definitely A. I'm super decisive and super fast. If I don't love it right after I put it on there's no point in buying it. I always blow my sister's mind when we go shopping because I'll literally try 10 things on in the time it takes her to try on 2.

I also don't usually bother looking at sale racks at stores-if it's worth buying it's almost always gone. But for some reason I'll happily search for coupon codes or wait for an online store to put out a coupon code before I buy something. I prefer online shopping to in store shopping, too. I need more selection!

C and it drive my DH crazy because after all the research I do I always anguish over "did I make the right decision?"

A. I'm a quick shopper, I know what I like, hardly ever try things on and I never return things. DH is the total opposite and it drives me mad!

I'm a C.

I am inherently incapable of paying full price for anything.

HUGE DITTO! I have a tough time paying $20 for a tee shirt if it's not on sale... it's all for a good cause-- the only material things that I truly want are pieces of NICE (read expensive) jewelry :Up_to_something:

D, all the way, with the exception of shopping for my kids. For myself, I wait until I'm desperate and then drag my sister with me. She selects and I try on...if I could avoid it all together I would. However, I don't mind browsing, that's when I usually find some great stuff...when I'm NOT looking...it's when I HAVE to buy something (i.e. I need a new pair of jeans b/c mine have a hole in the crotch) that I get itchy.

A. I'm quick and decisive. I hate shopping around for bargains - if I have a coupon or there's a sale going on, great, but I'm not one to go to every store in the mall or dig through sale racks looking for the cheapest item. If I love something, I'll consider whether it's worth full price or not, then decide whether I should buy it. I hate going shopping with DH, because he has to compare everything. To buy new shorts, for example, we had to visit every store in the mall that carried cargo or khaki shorts so he could try on every single pair, only to buy the ones I told him to get at the second store. That drives me crazy!

For bigger purchases, and electronics, I do research and compare my options quite a bit, but once I make a decision I don't look back or doubt my decision.

I usually research well, comparison shop and wait for deals. This is probably 95% of my shopping. However, every once in a while I will see something that catches my eye and I will purchase on the spot. Ironically, I usually love these items the most!

My latest example is a pair of running shorts I bought on a whim. They are easily my favorite thing to wear and I have found myself washing them multiple times per week because I can't stop putting them on.

I am the bargain hunter! I always get the best deals possible on most things esp household/kitchen items and i don't like to pay full price for many things.

My husband is the type who researches something to find out the best one available and then i research it to find the best price!

I'm a combination of a couple of the options. I have to be in the right mood to go shopping, especially for clothes, because I can't really buy off the rack. Everything I buy pretty much needs to be hemmed and/or taken in, so I always have to try clothes on. Sometimes I just don't have the patience to deal with it. For other, larger purchases (like electronics, furniture, cars, etc.), I do a ton of research before hand. I'm usually pretty happy with my purchases because I keep most of what I buy.

I dont think I fit in one of those categories. I love shopping online and in stores. If it is something expensive I will do tons of research. I am also an impulse shopper. Especially in stores. Those little items put right by the register are put there for people like me. I always buy them. I am not one to mull over purchases though. I see it, I like it, I buy it. I am not one that walks around the store looking. I move quickly and grab what I want and then pay and leave. Rarely do I end up with something that I do not want. With clothes it happens more because I will try them on in the store and decide to buy. Once I get home I wash it immediately. Once I wear the item the first time it becomes apparent whether or not it was a good purchase, but since I have already washed it I cannot return it.

Recently I have spent waaaay too much money and I am begining to think that it is an addiction. Sometimes when funds are low and I cannot shop I will get depressed and NEED to buy something. Usually in those situations I go to the store and buy shampoo and conditioner and deoderant. Things like that and I will feel better.

I wonder if I should see a therapist for my addiction?

I am mostly A, I do find though that sometimes I buy clothes and wear them for a few months only to lose interest in them.

Some of you mentioned spouses in your responses, and I have so say, my husband is like me, an "A" for small items, and sort of a "C" when it comes to more expensive purchases. He does a ton of research, and price comparison, but once it's purchased, he doesn't look back. We get along really well that way because we're decisive.

Both my brother and his wife take forever to make any decision, then they're not sure about their decision, and end up having buyer's remorse almost 90% of the time. They drive me batty with their incessant questions about their purchases, but in the end, they get along really well because BOTH of them are like that.

E! I am a somewhat confused shopper when it comes to buying clothes for myself. I am in my mid 50s and am having a hard time finding what is suitable for someone my age to wear without looking like a teen or like an old lady. Luckily I am in great physical shape so most clothes look good on me.

When it comes down to other purchases, gifts or stuff for the home I am usually spot on about what to buy. I can evaluate a person and know what they would like. So I enjoy shopping as long as it is not for myself....

A for clothing in stores. I usually don't bother with waiting for sales because my size is often gone. I will wait around for online sales from certain places where I am already comfortable with their sizing. Then, I can buy suits for cheaper. My annual thing is to buy lots of shoes presale, from the Nordy's Anniversary Sale. Then, I will buy shoes of the same style in different colors.

For bigger purchases, C kicks in, except, I don't usually regret what I purchase.

I can't stand my mom's taste in clothing/jewelry. She thinks because she's over 50, a dowdy look is age-appropriate. We've had to work on that...

My MIL is a total B person. As in, she's the type B shopper, not an actually B. She's a total bargain shopper, so for example, while I'd shop at Nordstrom, she'll hit Nordstrom Rack. I can't deal with shifting through racks and racks of clothing anymore. I have better things to do with my time and if it's made well and looks good, I have no problem forking over the money. Except for t-shirts. I won't pay $50 for a plain t-shirt...

Actually I'm none of the above. I am absolutely a second-hand shopper. I hate paying full price for ANYTHING- jewelry, books, clothes, electronics, furniture.... Especially clothes! I prefer to buy used, sometimes at Goodwill, sometimes on eBay, sometimes at the antique mall I work at. All my furniture is from antique stores. Undies are the exception of course, lol. Shoes I wouldn't buy from Goodwill used because they're usually way too used and hideous to boot, but eBay, yes. I have gotten some barely or not at all used shoes for nothing on eBay that I love. Fluevogs I will buy new because they're so freaking awesome and I want to contribute, and I can't always find what I want used with Fluevogs since they're not a super popular/known brand.

I'm also very much a researcher. I will compare, contrast, read reviews and think for months usually on bigger purchases.

Tattoos especially, lol. I plan those for years, actually. And, for my biggest tattoo on my back, I looked through literally dozens and dozens of portfolios before I found an artist I trusted and liked.

I'm a combination of A, B and C. If it something for me and not to expensive its usually A. If its for my teenage son B is usually
the best way to go. Bring lots home and take back what he doesnt want. If its something electronic and or expensive then its
option C but I'm pretty sure of my decision after I've done all the research.

Isnt shopping fun :cheeky: !

I used to be A (and kind of a C) and still am if I actually get to shop at a store. I really look around, and do lots of comparison, but once I make my decision, I am happy with it.

I love shopping, but now I live in a small town where Wallmart is the most exciting place :knockout: . I used to go shopping every weekend I was in San Antonio when I was there see my FI, but than we weren't doing anything else, and we only see each other on the weekends.

So I have started online shopping. I am decisive in what I want, but I have had to send lots of stuff back because it just does not fit.

Probably "A" with a touch of "C" & a caveat ... I tend to pass up *marginal* things and then regret it later & spend a ton of time trying to re-find that item. Or wait too long deciding & miss an item. Happened this weekend and drove me crazy! I wanted this specific classic but interesting GAP sweater ... dickered too long with an open shopping cart online ... and then it sold out nationwide in my size. Backorder came back rejected. Gah! So I ended up ordering it in a smaller size because some of the reviews mentioned it was *roomy* -- but by the time I did that it was sold out in EVERY size nationwide. So I started calling stores & had one shipped to me. Arrived today & luckily fits. Who would have thought a brand new GAP item would sell out so quickly? I think one of the reviews said it was mentioned in a magazine or something.

My DH is trying to cure me of the pass-it-by-and-regret-it-later-habit, but that could quickly veer into buying lots of stuff I actually don't need. My one hard & fast rule in a dressing room is NEVER buy something if you don't like it more that what you came into the store wearing. If you wouldn't RATHER walk out in the new item -- no go. (Swimsuits aside obviously).

I'm some A C and D.

I research the heck out of any large purchase, then I'm confident in it and always love it and never return it. However, I pretty much hate shopping. except for sparklies!
