ring 6Hi all,

I wonder if you could help me. I am very interested in this sort of style ring and how it set. I like it especially the prong or head of where the diamodn sits sticks out alot. I have attached some pics that i have seen from this forum i hope you dont mind and i havent violated any rules. i am sorry if i have as i still new to this. The last 3 will help you get more of an idea, i hope this is clear

Thank you for all your advice in advance

ring 1
ring2
ring3
ring 4 - like very much
ring5
ring6

Many Thanks

also i forgot to mention i dont prefer it when the shoulders are quite high up i prefer it when the setting/prong stands on its own if that makes sense

Thank you

Hi lovey!

I think that those are 4 pronged (which is the head part) common prong settings (where all the little diamonds are on the bands is considered common prong). You could change the prongs from 4 to 6 if you like and I think it''s considered tiffany style (which is very classic). I think I got that all right, but if I''m wrong, someone will come along and correct me.

Also when you have diamonds all the way around the ring it''s called an eternity band. If it''s halfway around, it''s called a half eternity band. Good luck on your ring search!

thank you for your answer is there anyone that could give me the precise name so i can ask for it

thank you

I would just consider that a 4-prong setting (head). Are you just talking about the part that holds the main stone? Or
are you also talking about the shank of the ring (the part that goes around the finger) because you have given different
examples of shanks. The head is jus a 4-prong setting. I think you want to ask your jeweler to set your stone high.
Jewelers can set the stone very low or they can set it as high as the prongs will allow.

The one that you like a lot would be a 4-prong knife edge solitare (thats what you would call the whole ring).

Edit - actually the one that you like a lot is a 6-prong knife edge solitare.
Maybe I dont know what you are asking?

Hope that helps?

I don''t think it has a precise name... you could say no shoulders and no cathedral - just a head on a band. that should do it. You could say you want it ''set high'' too. But there is a variety of head types you can have as well...

Thank you for all your responses, it has helped. you are right i will ask for the diamond to sit up very high as i like one that stils out alot

thanks

Hello!

These are 4-prong and 6-prong (very common) settings. You can find them at most jewelry stores and online vendors. I have the 6-prong, myself. If you go to the Whiteflash website you can find them there...have fun!
