What type of prongs are these?

First, Merry Christmas!!! What is your opinion on this ring? The prongs look somewhat unusual and I'm not sure what type they are. What would be their possible snag-factor? (e.g. Extra high potential, high, medium, low, very low...) Also, how would they handle a removal of a CZ and a replacement of the same mm diamond? Anything else I should know about it?

Thank you for your helpfulness!!!

The prongs look to be a combination of a few different looks. It seems to be a fishtail 6-prong with miligrain etched on the side. There's also some diamond accents.

It looks a bit high and I don't know how a jeweler would remove the CZ. Probably much like any other stone removal process, but maybe because it's a cz, it may just be cracked apart. I don't know.

Claw prongs?

Thanks for the opinions! Iota, it seems you are concerned about removal; would you be also concerned about the setting of the diamond? I'm not sure if I said this in my op, but the mm is the same. It's an older Tacori sample ring.

Seriously considering getting this but want to know from others their feeling on the resetting of the diamond into these prongs. It would be done by a Tacori platinum dealer with a fantastic jeweler or it would be sent to Tacori. I don't want a risky setting or prongs from unwanted stress. The diamond mm is exactly the same as the cz set now. Is it too risky?

I just absolutely love the Tacori older three-stone rings with their fancier mountings. I am not as crazy about any of the their newer settings. And I've just about scoured all of the well-known designers including ones recommended on PS. I just can not find anything else I like as much. These older settings can only be found as sample rings now.

Thanks for your help!

Why don't you contact whoever you want to reset it and see what they say? I think that will be your best idea.
