In trying to design my new ring settings for my RB, I have decided that I want a diamond shank with matching diamond eternity band to replace my solitaire setting. Would you guys go for either a "v-shaped pave" shank, a bead''set pave shank, or a shared-prong look? I was just looking for some feedback. I''ll try to post pics of the three looks below ...

Here are some pics of the "v-shape" pave - hope you guys don''t mind me showing pics of your gorgeous rings!

Here''s one of shared-prong - I just can''t decide!

Oops, the bead set I posted didn''t come up - here''s a bead-set pave setting that I love, but imagine it with an RB ...

Well, what''s your favourite? I voted bead set, but that''s only because for some reason it appeals to my eye the most. I haven''t seen V-shape in person though, so that''s an unknown to me. Hard to tell from the pic. I think though that bead set gives a definite "feel" to a ring, to me, more vintage or classic. The other two look more sleek and modern. Vague enough?

I personally prefer the v shape....(I''m actually looking at that for myself)

I prefer the V shape too. Whose ring is that? I recall it being a recent Leon Mege masterpiece, but I can''t remember who it belongs to. Anyhoo, love the pave on that ring and Leon really does it right.

V shape. Hands down.

for me it would depend on who's making the ring. i've seen the v-step pave that looked and felt scratchy, if it was Leon or MB or maytal, I'd vote v-step, otherwise, I'd probably go with the bead set.

Ditto. If you go with Leon (and want a super-thin shank like diamondnut's ring), I would go with the V shape. Otherwise, I prefer bead set (like the Ritani Endless Love).

Hands down Leon''s v-shaped pave. It is delicate and stunning and best yet you only see diamonds, no metal!

Oooh, I LOVE the v-shape!

Thanks for your replies everyone! The v-shape I posted was diamondnut''s new Leon. I''m pretty sure that''s the one that I like the best. I talked to my husband about it already, and I''m definitely going to go with Leon for the redesign. I am thinking that a 2mm v-shape pave, with maybe an 8-prong head with the teeny tiny delicate prongs, and pave on the basket as well, plus a matching 2mm wedding band. So basically, the set would look a lot like diamondnut''s, but with an 8-prong head and pave on the basket instead of a platinum basket.

There is a new Ritani setting that I really like as well, but I just keep coming back to Leon''s designs, and don''t think I''ll ever be satisfied until I have a Leon piece. The only difficult part is waiting! My 3rd anniversary isn''t until next May (2009) and I wanted to wait until then to upgrade the settings to be totally sure that I was getting something that I would want forever. My husband just got a big promotion, raise & bonus at work though, so now I''m thinking that maybe I should get this as a 2nd anniversary present instead - patience isn''t one of my strong points

Ooh, definitely do it now while the money is there! I''m not a huge believer in forever settings (understatement!), but since you love the Leon so much, you should definitely go that route. Good luck!

if you have the money now, i''d go ahead and do it too. prices sure aren''t getting any lower and the setting could easily cost a lot more a year from now.

Thanks for your feedback! I was out of town for Easter this weekend, so I''ve been AWOL from PS.

I''m really thinking that I like the v-shape pave the best the more that I think about it.

I''m just hesitant to go and make yet one more change to my rings, since I just witched from an asscher to an RB at Christmas. I feel like maybe I should sit with this for at least a year before making any more changes.

By the way, I am just LOVING my RB. I was afraid that I would miss the asscher when it was gone, but I really don''t. I still love a step-cut, but I''m holding out for a fat 3-stone EC anniversary ring for my 10th anniversary. Looks like I turned out to be a sparkle & size girl after all ;)

V shaped Leon! *swoon*
