I''d love to know what consumers would like to have available when they shop for diamonds.

Strmrdr suggested 20x and 30x loupes in addition to the regular 10x versions. He also suggested cleaning cloths. Aljdewey suggested jewelry cleaner for stones that can''t go into an ultrasonic.

Those are great suggestions.

What else would folks like to have access to? No doubt, if you ask, one or several here will soon offer it to you.... We''re here to help you make the buying and owning of jewelry a success.

Alj beat me to it. i was going to suggest the jewelry cleaner solution.

and i agree with strmdr. stronger loupes would be great!

All of the above suggestions are really good ideas. I would like to be able to get a good " safe " to use gold polish, one which is easy to use and doesn't get globbed and hard to remove. I use a polishing cloth which is ok but would prefer a polish for my mad jewellery cleaning sessions - if there is such a thing available.

Also a little brush kit, with a small angled brush for cleaning pavillions and culets, also a tiny one for cleaning around and behind prongs. The ones which come with cleaners aren't very good IMO.

Choice.

.... the meaningful kind that allows personal taste and understanding of quality.

I could probably tell a long story about communication, but no tangible props come to mind as particularly useful.

Valeria;

Do you mean a set of 3 CZ''s cut for BIC, TIC and FIC....some sort of way to make a decision?

I don''t know if it can even be done.

Garry Holloway, can this be done?

I''ve been trying to locate the original thread with this ... I think the examples were meant to show less subtle things (perhaps hits and misses of pattern and brilliance or both).

The reason I edited this out of the previous post is that... well how close such examples can be to what any random person could be interested in? Can they be fair? At some point ''choice'' is more sophistic than useful and it is not too pleasant to draw the line between these - it can only be my biased taste and personal disinclination to selling anything

I''d like to see a small cloth-lined jewelry pouch that you can keep your ring/jewelry in. Ring boxes are okay but I have had my ring literally fall out when I open the box. I think a pouch that is easy to carry and holds jewelry securely would be great.
