Hello my favorite ladies! =D

My boyfriend is about to face studying-for-boards-month and I want to make him a study/care package kit!!

Anyone have any ideas for me what to put in it?

So far I''ve thought of-
highlighters, granola bars, drinks

..I''m not that creative ^_^;;

popcorn!
note cards (flash cards, not sure what they are called in different areas)

you can put gronla bars and nuts in there, there are filling and healthy, also you can put some chocolate in there. I would also put some STRONG coffee, and i know its bad, but like a enegery shot....ooo and vitamin C or engery vitamins! HaHa

I like the notecard or post it note idea, but only if you sneak in a little note on one of them so when he goes to use them he sees your note and thinks what an amazing girlfriend you are.

definitely put in a couple short, sweet notes from you.
also going to dollar tree or other dollar store is a great way to load up on cheap supplies and candy and best of all, a couple silly toys for him to amuse himself with. the racecars work really well for that, or the light-up swords.

Earplugs if he wants to study in peace/silence, or an iTunes gift card if he likes mood music.

Peppermints (they''re supposed to be good for memory AND for unsettled stomachs!).

A stress squeezy (you know, those little foam things or the balloons stuffed with sand).

Awww...what a great idea! Here''s what I would put in a study kit (or like in my own although I never want to have to study for anything again!):

-gum/mints
-post-its or flags
-highlighters
-extra pencils (preferably mechanical) and erasers
-extra pens
-Starbucks gift card
-snacks - both sweet and salty
-and because i''m a girl, hand cream and lip balm (staple items in my day-to-day life!)

I bought my boyfriend bars that had a decent amount of protein in them so he could spend more time at the library without having to stop to eat.

Obviously I would prefer that he stop to eat actual food but I know he won''t so I figured this was the next best thing.

Ohhh this is a great topic! I''m in law school and study kits are a huge deal - I end up making my own unfortunately, but here are some good ideas that haven''t been mentioned. Definitely find out his favorite writing utensil - the right pens make a big difference for me.

-Tylenol
-Lifesavers
-Jolly Ranchers
-gum
-tissues
-book stand

Also, not sure how near or far you are, but the best thing my BF did for me was to bring me a warm homemade meal for dinner in the middle of my studying. I had no idea he was coming, but showed up with a hot dinner - which I scarfed down and didn''t even realize I was hungry!

Ahh, megumic, I wish you''d posted sooner, I just shipped out my (law student) boyfriend''s study kit! I would have taken your list for sure!

He already had his first today though. I feel bad I waited so long.

OMG, you ladies are amazing!!!

I LOVE ALL YOUR IDEAS!!

I''m making a shopping list now... mwahaha =)

Unfortunately I''m on the West Coast and he''s on the East Coast. =(

Maybe I can get him a meal delivered...

Addy- I LOVE the idea about popcorn and notecards, they are so on my list!
Jessie702- granola bars and nuts are going in too! =D as well as a handwritten note!
Squirrly- My boyfriend LOVES racecars... that is going on my list too!
misskitty- I didn''t know that about peppermints! That and the itunes gift card, and stress ball are also on my list now *^_^*
sammyj- your whole list, is on my list now. lol!
suchende- protein bars.. great idea! =D
megumic- I would not have thought of tissues or Tylenol, but that is a fantastic idea too!

You gals are amazing! Thank you so much for the help! I feel like I went from clueless to AWESOME GIRLFRIEND all thanks to you guys! i can''t wait for his reaction when he gets this! I''m going to ship it to him =)

A few CDs of good study music - anything that''s energetic without words

A book weight - can get these at Barnes and Noble - a leather strip with weight on each side so the book stays open (KEY for huge textbooks - I had one with me at all times in grad school)

A "Page Up" stand to hold pages if he has to type - $5 at Office Depot or any supply store

The highlighters that have the post-it flags in them

Hot chocolate

Crackers with PB or some kind of snack with a little protein

Hard candy/gum

If he''ll be sitting in front of a computer, one of those gel things for the wrists

Chocolate covered espresso beans!!!! Any student''s must have. So much better tasting than Red Bull and oh so useful for late night studying!

How about Solgar Brain Acuity supplement. Its a supplement that helps brain functioning, I dunno if its only placebo but I thought it helped during my MSc exams. Also, I like studying with a scented candle, but thats probably a girl thing.

hehe, you guys are helping make my FF fat! =D

An update! ( and thank you for all the lovely suggestions!)

i bought almost everything you guys mentioned- AND

1. beef jerky
2. window crayons, so he can write notes to himself on windows and mirrors
3. a to do list to organize his daily studies

Thank you for the help!

my SO just got finished law school, and taking/studying for the bar. i''ve seen MANY study sessions and i know that he always felt really dirty from sitting in the same spot all day and wearing sweatpants. if i were making a care package i would without a doubt add hand sanitizer and deoderant! lol, sounds funny, but trust me.

sweetliloldme, I am so jealous of you for already being on the other side of law school. 1L has been so hard!

And the to-do list is a great idea too! Especially if it has the little checkboxes!

i would rather put up with him being in law school then studying for the bar, again.. so much worse. no time for anything other than studying (really doesn''t eat, sleep, watch tv, cpend time with me or the baby) sucks. but ut is hard..look on the bright side it will all pay off eventually. right?

In this legal market, I am not sure

It''s pretty scary. I want to go to law school eventually myself, but I am having a hard time letting go of gainful employment for such a gamble.

Sorry for the threadjack, it''s possible we need a "grad school/exams widows" thread
