I used to have palm trees but my gardener killed them. Long story. So now I need to plant something i just don’t know want! Ideally plants shouldn’t shed lest they end up in my pool. Direct sunlight. Please help.

Bird of Paradise, agapanthus (standard or mini varieties), fortnight lily (2 - 3 ft tall and wide).
Or a planter bed where a change out annuals depending on my mood.
Old pool built in 1982, black bottom no longer, needs to be replastered.

If you can get your hands on this book from the library or even peek at it at the book store, it has a two page list of plants to be planted near swimming pools

https://www.amazon.com/New-Western-...1536239330&sr=8-1&keywords=sunset+garden+book

These plants all meet a certain criteria, no thorns, won’t drop things that will clog filters, won’t attract bees...etc. Plus, you can plant according to your zone.

@cflutist That view just made my heart stop! Where about in the US do you live? Because I want to come & live there! We've just started watching Ozark on Netflix, and I want to live there too....

San Francisco Bay Area.
I also recommend the Sunset Garden book mentioned by @House Cat

If only I had this problem, le sigh.

Thank you al! Will hunt down the book and keep your suggestions in mind.

Depends on your zone.
