What to look for in a sapphire?

I've never seen a sapphire like this before. Not that I'm super familiar with sapphires...

Just wondering, what are you supposed to look for?

What color sapphire are you looking for? That is one of the most unattractive sapphires I’ve ever seen. It’s so dark and brown looking, a pyrope garnet would look better. It’s a pity he wasted his beautiful cutting on it

Just browsing. I was just a little confused by all the colors they have. It's listed as a cabernet sapphire and there's another one listed as a merlot sapphire. I tried to Google it but that just turned up wine...

Lol, I think that’s just the vendor using his own metaphors to describe the colors.

Sapphires come in a myriad of colors.

Yeah, sapphires come in a massive range of colors, and Roger is an outstanding gem cutter.
