Hi Everybody,

I am looking into getting an engagement ring in November, will be buying in new york.
I have been onto a jeweler and he gave me the following prices for the eng ring and wedding band with the following diamond.

1.21 H SI2 $8900
1.20 G SI2 $9100
1.20 I SI1 $9000
1.22 F SI2 $9600
1.06 G VS2 $9600

I am thinking of going with the 1.06 G VS2, would you think that this one would be the best diamond to go for.
There would be more sparkle to the diamond been VS2. I also have to find out the cut and the symmetry.

What would you recommend. All are GIA certified.
I want to be certain to pick the right one.

There is absolutely not enough information to make that decision. The clarity has nothing to do with sparkle, the cut is what makes a diamond sparkle

You need to find out lots more info - table, depth, crown and pavillion angles and post those numbers here.

If all else is equal in terms of cut after this info in determined, I would pick a G VS2, as it''s a nice combo. Good colour grade, and I prefer the mind-cleanliness of a VS clarity stone for an ering. However, if they are not all as well cut, I would take the best cut. A well cut I will stil face up white. You also need to make sure the stones are eyeclean, I wouldn''t take a stone with visible inclusions.

Hi welcome to Pricescope. I agree w/Honey, if it is a Round brilliant we need the information of the certificate such as crown angle, Pavilion angle, depth % and table %.

cheers, I will try to find out that info.
Will I just ask the jeweler can he find this out from the GIA cert???

He should be able to, if not ask him to run a Sarin report which will give detailed measurements of the diamonds.

Cheers.

Cheers Neil.
I will find out.

I would also check out the online vendors....I was just shopping those same sizes/color/clarity ranges and got a much better deal. I paid around $5500 for an 1.23 for an excellent cut all around......

OOps....sorry, just saw that was including you ring as well.....
