What to do?

So I want a pair of earrings. I get wire instructions for a wrong total amount even though the list is itemized- diamonds, settings and shipping with prices. It should be more. My husband is none too pleased as it's a big mistake. I think the carelessness is making him uncomfortable.

Umm I'd ask for the real total and buy the diamonds?

I'd get back to the vendor, explain the mistake, and see how they react. If you think they are flighty, I'd have them sent to a local appraiser before paying for them and let the appraiser be the go between, releaseing them to you when the $$ is received by the vendor.
