I am new, first post. I have been learning alot about diamonds the lat few months and after seeing so many beautiful rings I decided to make some changes. I have a 7 stone half-eternity band and I wanted to add a few stones to make it fuller. The ring is years old and bought before I learned anything about diamonds. I went to a local jeweler to ask about adding the diamonds, well I learned I have .03ct diamonds, J color, I1 clarity. I was told to add 4 diamonds would be $300-$400. So here's my dilemma, since I have low quality stones should I get the work done is it worth it? I actuall only wanted to get the work done because I am unhappy with the band, I want a full eternity band and plan on saving up for one, which is going to take awhile. Also the height of my band rubs against my solitaire prongs,
I asked if some height could be taken off and was told no. Or should I buy another band with the money I would spend on the alternation that I can live with until we have saved up for a eternity band? I feel like I am throwing money away by paying for low quality diamonds
and don't know what I do.

save up, you already stated you are unhappy with the current band and given the lower quality of the materials save for what you know now.

I'd recommend giving ID Jewelry a call (www.idjewelryonline.com,, call and ask for Yukutiel and tell him you are from Pricescope) and describe exactly what you're looking for. They have access to many, many settings and know that Pricescopers want high quality small diamonds. You might be surprised how inexpensive a full eternity can be, depending on the size of the diamonds. And, if what you're thinking of is going to take a while to save for, they have many smaller stackable rings that are a good value (like around $500) that would be higher quality and make more sense cost-wise than re-working your current I1 clarity ring. You could get something with a meaningful birthstone or something so that even once you have a full eternity, you can still enjoy the stacker.

Thank you so much for the quick replies. I guess I just needed to hear it from someone else that its not worth the investment and it I will contact idjewelers.
