I am new, first post. I have been learning alot about diamonds the lat few months and after seeing so many beautiful rings I decided to make some changes. I have a 7 stone half-eternity band and I wanted to add a few stones to make it fuller. The ring is years old and bought before I learned anything about diamonds. I went to a local jeweler to ask about adding the diamonds, well I learned I have .03ct diamonds, J color, I1 clarity. I was told to add 4 diamonds would be $300-$400. So here's my dilemma, since I have low quality stones should I get the work done is it worth it? I actuall only wanted to get the work done because I am unhappy with the band, I want a full eternity band and plan on saving up for one, which is going to take awhile. Also the height of my band rubs against my solitaire prongs,
I asked if some height could be taken off and was told no. Or should I buy another band with the money I would spend on the alternation that I can live with until we have saved up for a eternity band? I feel like I am throwing money away by paying for low quality diamonds
and don't know what I do.
