Ok diamond gurus, who has a suggestion for me on this one.

I have a lose diamond that I am going to send off to WF to be put in a setting. But, as is the case with most places WF doesn’t cover the unlikelihood of the diamond being chipped while being mounted.

Likewise, I have not been able to find able to find an insurance company that will insure a loose stone. So even if I get it set locally in a cheapo setting, I still risk the possibility of it being chipped during that setting process.

So do I guess I just send it off to WF and hope for the best? It is a RB and from what I have read the chances of it being chipped are extremely remote.

Only a couple months ago I thought I would be able to wonder into a store and get a ring, little did I know…

I seem to recall one of our clients telling me that he was able to get a loose diamond insured by Jewelers Mutual (?)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I tried them with no luck

What happened?

I contacted JM, and as I suspected they do not insure loose stones. Looks like WF just better be careful :)
