Hi all,

We are off to San Diego in a few months with DD who will be 15 months. Any suggestions for things to do and see? Is it worth trying to get to Disney Land?

There's; Legoland,(GIA is close to Legoland, tour phone # 800-421-7250 ext. 4116) Balboa Park, Sea World, Birch Aquarium, Zoo, Belmont Park/Mission Beach, La Jolla (beach, cove and shops), Old Town, Coronado (Hotel Del and beach), Star of India and the Midway (if you like ships)....have fun!

For that age, I'd really recommend Legoland. And don't forget the zoo!

I have not heard great things about Legoland. The zoo and Balboa Park (which is where the zoo is) are great. There's a Children's Museum downtown. I'd plan on lots of beach time. There is a great little bay in Poont Loma, quiet, clean, calm water. I can give you directions if you are interested.

Thank you Hay Joe amc80 and KimberlyH for the replies!

Kimberly H, that little beach spot sounds perfect! Is it reachable without a car (not sure if we will rent one yet)

Mela, I wouldn't come to San Diego and not rent a car. We Californians drive EVERYWHERE! Unless your hotel is in La Jolla, for example, and you don't plan on leaving the cove I can't imagine coming here without one.

The place I was referring to is off of Rosecrans in a residential neighborhood. Not knowing where you'll be staying I'll give you directions from the airport. Make a right onto Harbor Drive turn left onto Rosecrans, turn left onto Kellogg Street. Again, it's a residential neighborhood, and Kellogg is a little side street, so park wherever it's legal and head down to the beach.

I'm going to second the need for a car. It will make things much easier.
