What to do after getting married?

What do I need to change when I get married. I have no clue how to go about doing any of it.

I am undecided about changing my name. If I do not change my name then what do I need to do? Who do I need to notify?

Does anyone have a list of things they did once they got married?

Changing your name is the one that requires the most work. Other than that (this is assuming you live in the US):

1) Let your employers know in order to add him to your insurance, or add you to his
2) Change the beneficiary on any life insurance policies
3) Combine auto insurance
4) Change your tax withholding.
5) Join financial accounts
6) Update/make a will
7) Emergency contacts

Also, check the newlyweds thread, where we've talked about the how-tos of name changes, the possibilities for name changes, (Hislast, hyphenated, First MaidenAsMiddle Hislast, etc), and various laws in some states and countries about limitations.

Assuming you are in the US, start with the Social Security card office, then the drivers' license office. Everything else gets done afterwards.
