Diamonds are addicting!! Looking at tennis bracelets lately and cant decide between 3 prong classic or half bezel set. I am worried about 3 prong style catching on things but think they sparkle more. Which style do you prefer? Help!!!

 Oh good, you are a true PSer! That is a tough choice. I have a 4 prong one. Bezel might be nice because it would be a little more casual. But the 3 prong is very pretty. I just worry a little about 3 prongs being secure.

DS I hope you got my email regarding Thursday!

JanetJoan - you are hooked! But its a beautiful addiction!!

I love the 3 prong setting (martini style) but as DS mentioned, I would also worry about protection of the stone and the security of a setting, as there are a lot more diamonds on a bracelet to pay attention to and not sure what simple move could 'bump' something. But... it all comes down to personal preference and budget.

The thrill of the hunt, so to speak!

What about between a 4 prong or half bezel then as you are making me nervous about the 3 prong. I was thinking in the 5 carat range with about .15 pt stones for the half bezel or 10 pt stones for the prong. So there would be 50 diamonds in the prong set or around 34 in the half bezel.Any thoughts?

Do you have any photos of examples you are considering? Certainly a 1/2 bezel sounds quite secure, but do you end up with too much metal and not enough 'bling'? I'd take sparkle over metal, personally! :))

Enerchi you and I are thinking alike! I dont have any pics but the ones I have seen in person it seems like the bezel ones dont sparkle as much. Oh good I am narrowing it down. Whats the point of wearing diamonds if they dont sparkle as much!

LOL! totally!!! If we wanted a metal bracelet, we'd get one... but clearly, we are looking for bling!!!

3-prong which is more timeless.

Do you think this would be secure enough? to me, it just looks like 2 prongs holding the diamond (probably not..) but I love the curved line:

YES! And I totally forgot to email you back...sorry! I went to search for the mall site to find the map so I'd know where you were talking about parking and entering, etc. But that all sounds great and I will be back in touch to confirm on Wed. to make sure we both can still go!

I think I like the classic one the best too!!Thanks for your help and DS Looking forward to hearing from you!!

I love the look of three prongs because I feel that it shows off the diamonds the best. It looks more classic to me, but I realize that is probably because it has been in style for some time. Bezels seem to be very popular right now and a good way to have some sparkle for less money. I do wonder if the diamonds on a bezel flip alot - which might drive me nuts.

Personally I have my heart set on finding the right deco period bracelet. I almost got one a few months ago but it was too blingy for everyday. Sigh I can't believe I just typed that!!

I recently purchased a bracelet in that classic style- I am very pleased with it! Doesn't seem to flip over at all, though it's only 6.75 inches long which might make the difference. Thought about the decision for MONTHS but when I saw the perfect piece I just knew it was the right one! Good luck with your search!

I have a 3 prong tennis bracelet and have had no problems at all with durability, and I wear mine quite a bit (not everyday as I am a scrub nurse). I don't ever recall snagging it on anything either. Plus it's soooooooooo purdy

Love the classic style :)

Hi Janet,

I'm getting ready to purchase the 4 prong at whiteflash. I've researched this for many months now and tried on several bracelets, and I'm just drawn to the 4 prong. I'm 50 and I read somewhere on the forum that tennis bracelets are going out of style and are old fashion... So maybe that's why I'm drawn to the 4 prong, I like vintage jewelry.
I noticed many people on here have the 3 prong. I was kind of leaning toward the 3 prong, but I decided to go with what I always wanted. I can only afford the 3 carat at this time, but I think this is going to be ok because I want to wear it every day. The 3 carat doesn't seem too big or too small, just enough bling for everyday wear, eventually I might upgrade. When I get it, I will post pictures. I will be putting my order in soon. I've been working with Victoria. She's been great and patient. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
