I am looking for your opinion, I''m debating on my choice to add pear side stones to my e ring. I have been planning on a 1.50 center with pears on the side (which I would have to save for).... but I have been thinking more about it. I already have a .82 RB center that was cut in the 50''s, its shallow and faces up about a 1 ct. I absolutely know that I want pear sides so...Maybe I should put pears on my current .82, save thousands now \ and worry about a larger center stone about 5-10 years from now as an anniversary upgrade, its possible that I may want a different style then.

my question is what side pears do you recommended for a 1 ct center stone

I think pear sides of 0.25 ct each are good for a 1-carat center stone. However, for a 3-stone ring with pear sides, I prefer the center stone to be between 1.5 ct and 2.8 ct. Save for your dream ring. Get it right the first time. Don''t settle. Besides, the setting costs $2K-$3K, which is not small change for an interim.

For a 1.5 cennter, the pear sides can be 0.30ct each.

If I were you I would start saving for my big stone (skip resetting the current stone). The only other option I can think of
is if you are looking for a change you could reset your current stone with pears that are big enough to go with your big
stone (1.5). It will probably overpower your current stone but at least you wont be buying 2 sets up pears and having
a spares when you''re done. Honestly I would just start saving for the big one.

Summertime just posted her BGD round center/pear sides in SMTR ( here ). It''s gorgeous and IMO, perfectly proportioned. FYI, her center is approx the same size as yours.
