What size diamonds for wedding band? Please help!

Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy a wedding band for my 1 carat round solitaire. I want a channel set band so the diamonds won't rub against the solitaire. Here is a picture I found of a band that I think looks like the absolute perfect carat weight/size. I'm sorry I don't know to whom this set belongs, but I think it's gorgeous! My question is, what size do you think the diamonds in this channel set band pictured are? I know it's hard to guess based on a picture. Maybe 4 or 5 pointers? Bigger? Smaller? Your guess is as good as mine! My goal is to duplicate the proportions of this band. Thank you for your thoughts!

Her wedding ring is 0.50 ct, so I guess her diamonds are 3/4 pointers.

So you think they're under 1 pointers? Hmm, they look maybe a little bigger than that to me, but not sure.

Laila, do you have a Tiffany near you? They have a few different styles of channel-set bands that you could at least try on to get a feel for the best diamond size.

Yes, I meant 3 or 4 pointers...maybe 5 pointers because I counted at least 9 stones.

I think three or four pointers would do it. Layla, I really encourage you to buy from facets or WF or BGD or the like. With channel sets, the placement of the stones and the width of the metal channels really makes or breaks it!!

Oh I absolutely agree, Dreamer. I was thinking about contacting I.D. Jewelry since they always have such amazing prices on bands. I'm sure they could do a good job, don't you think? I want 14k white gold, and I don't think WF, BGD, or Facets offer that unfortunately.
