I did 3 nights a few years back and it was a pleasant city break. I went to Quebec City after.
They have quite a few museums, parks, etc. Lots of travel guides online - really depends on what you like!

Montreal Museum of Archaeology and History, Notre Dame Basilica in old Montreal (go early long lines), old Montreal in general (lovely place), and Old Port
Visit old Montreal and the Notre dame cathedral, see the Mont Royal lookout, get bagels in the Jewish quarter (I think it was St. Viateur Bagels?) and above all, enjoy a Cafe au lait and croissant just about anywhere.

Thanks, everyone! We are actually taking a cruise!! So we are getting to Montréal 2 days before and staying near old town. Then we are going to Quebec, Charlottetown, Halifax, Bar Harbor and then end in Boston.
I place I loved in Quebec was the Butterfly Conservatory... Everyone in there was smiling. Amazing experience. In case you wanted to do something inside.
