Well, I am def. going with the JA .61 E diamond. I have been very pleased with the service but I had a little quirk today.

I asked if I could purchase it and have them keep it there for a little while until I got confirmation that BN accepts my return (they should, I followed all the directions and it is in the mail). The guy I talked to at first said he would have to talk to his manager, he called me back and said they could but they would want a ship date sometime middle of next week. Then I asked if i could get a picture of the Hearts or aset image and he said they don't do hearts pictures, didn't comment on the ASET.

Then tonight I talked to a really great woman at JA and she told me that she would advise just holding it until I was sure about the BN return and that it is in-house so it isn't going anywhere (though I don't realy care as long as they don't ship it yet),

Then she said that they can probably get me a hearts picture, and she also said that they send a hearts and arrows viewer with the package, which made me fall in love with her--almost enough to make me not need a ring anymore

jk. Then she went on to tell me that because this is one of the in house diamonds it has a 100% price lifetime upgrade policy with it.

I was VERY pleased with this second person, for obvious reasons, but I was wondering what else should I ask for, I would like to have the appraisal, AGS document, hearts image, arrows image, ideal scope (I have), aset image, the viewer, a written document about the upgrade policy and what else?

what about simple things like a lint free cloth and little JA bag to store the diamond in or something?

Just call and speak to the 2nd person that you liked and ask her all of these questions. Ask!!!!...All they can tell you is NO.

thats pretty good advice:) hopefully that first guy won''t get mad, I am not sure what to do though, because I KNOW he is going to call me tomorrow, and I really didn''t like the pressure and lack of cooperation he was giving me.

you don't need ASET-not very useful on rounds, you have Sarin numbers, and it's AGS 0

First off, you are the customer and it is your money. You want to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

If I were you, I would call first thing tomorrow and speak to the person that I wanted to speak too. Sometimes consumer and salesperson do not work well together, SO!!! work with someone you like and you feel comfortable with.

I'd try to beat this guy to the punch by calling in before he calls you but ask to speak with the 2nd salesperson when you call.

I definately agree that certain salespeople click with certain customers, various personalities don't mesh as well as others. I'd stick with the 2nd person you talked to. That's the great thing about doing this online, it's easier to switch since you'll never have to see any of these people face to face.

Just to reassure you.......I just went through a couple of returns with BN. They were wonderful about it. I was very nervous about getting the items returned and getting my $11,000 back and very afraid I would be charged for the wear and tear I caused---I felt I SHOULD have been mind you, I had a shared prong eternity band and 6 prong plat solitaire from them and the eternity band ate UP the prongs on that setting after wearing it for a couple of weeks........but much to my relief, both returns went quickly and smoothly. Both times, I would get an email about 3 days after sending the item back stating that the items were received and that in 3-4 days I would hear from the returns department once they reviewed the item---well, both times I got word that the return was accepted and approved within the same day.

I have to say, I am so impressed by their return policy, I seriously did some damage to that setting and they didn't charge me a dime...........I feel kinda guilty, all I ended up buying from them was a $211 band........(my concious is somewhat helped by the fact that I've spent a decent amount of $ with them in the past, a diamond pendant and diamond stud earrings) but my whole reason for returing everything was that I wanted to go with a vendor with an upgrade policy and especially because I wanted a sarin report, IS image and some true ADVICE on the stone.

Thanks for the response. I have a lot of respect for blue nile, and I am glad to hear your returns went as well as I expect for mine to go! I am def. very excited about the purchase now (as long as that little beauty is eye clean, but I can't do anything other than look at it myself now!). So I think I will call up tomorrow morning and see about making the purchase, just to make sure that the price doesn't go up and so that I know for sure its not going anywhere,
but before that I will have to determine what I should be asking for, all of the above mentioned I suppose and see what they say, plus being very insistent on the hearts image, and I was also reading that whiteflash gives an idealscope with ACA purchases? I find that hard to believe, but that would be awesome to get one of those. Either way I am glad to be working with James Allen, it seems to be a wonderful business so far, even with that pressure this morning. Now to figure out what to do about settings though...probably just the classic wgold solitaire four prong with a platinum head on it...but...still thinking.

I would have JA set the stone for you ''cause it''s the easiest thing to do. That way they take responsibility during the setting. And a simple band would make the stone pop.

Congrats on your stone! It looks like it will be lovely.

Yea, I guess I will just stick with the four prong. When I tried out the previous four prong for my gf, I personally found it was a bit uncomfortable getting my phone out of my pocket ;) (it was on my pinky) but I guess that''s what purses are for huh.

Now my only question is whether to get the diamond sent to me before setting, just so I can check everything out. In the end these are the things coming with my purchase:

Diamond & Original AGS Report

H&A Viewer

Idealscope

Loupe

Stone Holder

James Allen Wooden Box

and they said they might can send me a little lint free polishing cloth--

(Hopefully I can send back the Loupe I bought on ebay, and I imagine the stone holder doesn''t come with it if it is mounted)

of course I am still trying to get a hearts image if it is mounted first, and I figure a magnified image to help me locate the inclusion when it comes in, if it is hard to find

However, I do have one question if anyone is reading, Does James Allen provide an appraisal? it seems that they don''t?

Stone holder should come with the package, you paid for it, even if they mount the stone for you.

They should send you a polishing cloth. A clean diamond makes everyone involved in the transaction HAPPY!!!

I got all of these things with my ACAs that were sent to Maytal for mounting. WhiteFlash sent me the paperwork and the ACA package and sent her the ACAs.
