Hi there! So I finally have my wedding set all sorted out....seriously....FINALLY. so I am moving on to repurposing some stones into something I will actually wear. I have a .33 carat diamond pendant in a six prong basket. It is admittedly not the nicest diamond. It's only a very good cut. But it was the very first gift my husband ever gave me, and I am sort of emotionally attached to it. But I never wear it anymore. Ever. I also have a thin diamond half eternity that has about 26 .01 stones. So I thought I could halo the pendant with those stones? And do it so that there's a good bit of metal to make it have more presence. Maybe an octagonal halo with milgrain? I would really love something that looks very art deco.
something with this look?

I have this pinned on Pinterest for inspiration. I would want emeralds instead. But I am afraid my .33 carat pendant is just too small and would be swallowed up by emeralds in this design? Is it too small to make a ring similar to this?

any thoughts or suggestions? I am open to anything. A pendant? A ring? I can't seem to find an example online of such a small center diamond with .01 stones in the halo. I am sure I am just not looking well enough.

Brilliant idea! I love repurposing jewelry! Your inspiration pics are perfect. Go for it!

I'm with Bonfire, I don't think your stone will be swallowed up and I think it's a great idea and you should go for it! I lean towards rings myself because I would want to be able to look at something so pretty all the time.

Sorry to thread jack, junebug your avatar pic is delicious!

I am leaning toward a ring as well for that very reason. I just want it to be VERY wearable. I have an amethyst with diamond halo that I never wear because it feels huge. I guess that's not likely to happen with such a small diamond.

Does anyone have suggestions on someone to execute something similar to these designs? The emeralds would likely have to be specially cut and that could put that out of budget?

Both these are gorgeous! Such a great idea.

I've never worked with David Klass personally, but from the photos I've seen of his work, he'd be a great guy to do this within a reasonable budget. Erika winters and Caysie van bebber also do gorgeous rings with a similar deco/vintage vibe but would likely be more expensive.

i actually like the first photo with the rose cut and halo best for a smaller diamond like yours. It would be very pretty with the stones you have for the halo and also seems like it would be very wearable so you might use it more. I agree that David Klass could execute this ring for you. He has made a few rings for me and is very easy to work with and very reasonable. I have never had him use custom cut stones like you assume you will need for the second photo, but I'm very confident he could make you a beautiful ring should you choose the first,

I am leaning toward something similar to this? I think it would compliment my small diamond and be very wearable? I could add in my diamonds down the shank? Or in the metal halo? I appreciate any and all feedback!

I think DK would be the most cost effective way to execute this project. I may go to someone locally and see his estimate. But from what I've heard, DK's prices are hard to beat.
