Ok, so I''ve been driving myself crazy trying to decide on a setting for my future fiancee. I haven''t really been "ring shopping" with her, but the little that we have i see she tends to go for really thin rings with a pave'' shank. The two that I''ve been really looking at are:

I really like the first setting but do you think the diamonds between the prongs take away from the center stone? Also, I decided on an E color because of the "icy " look but with this setting it really looks like you can only the the diamond from the top view. I may have just been able to get a lower color and went up in size and still look really whiite from the top.
The second setting I''ve always liked too. The only thing with this is it kind of looks like the prongs are a little thick. The shank also tappers up towards the basket.
I guess I''m being really picky, but I want this to be the perfect setting for her.
So what does everyone else think of these two settings? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?
The stone that will be set is an 1.26 SI1 from GoodoldGold
